I’m just finishing up my thank you cards, and I left the trickiest ones for last.
There were two couples invited to our wedding, but only one half of each couple could attend – one person’s wife had just had a baby, and one person’s husband was away on business. In all of my other thank you cards, I thanked the guests for their gift, and thanked them for coming to the wedding, but I’m stumped as to what to write to these couples. The space on my cards is quite large, so I don’t just want to say, “thanks for the gift.” I also don’t want to have to draw a picture to take up more space. 🙂
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I’d just say something like “It was so nice to see you at the wedding, Name. We missed you, OtherName!” Obviously you thank both of them for the gift.

Dear Fritz and Eunice,
Thank you so much for the wonderful XXXXXXXXX. I cannot wait to use it to XXXXXXXXXX.
It was so wonderful to see Fritz at the wedding, that blue hat was the talk of the party. It was sad that Eunice couldn’t make it, but hopefully we will be able to get together soon.

@mousepeach: That’s funny! I sure hope no one shows up wearing any type of hat to my wedding though.
