@KatieNoel: We worded it as "thank you for the beautiful card and gift" as we had this happen to us as well. It is better to thank them for too much than for too little! ;)
Are you confident that all of the gifts were picked up by family members and forwarded to you?
Do you have any gifts that are unaccounted for? i.e. you don't know who the giver was?
If not, maybe they didn't give you a gift.

I have a question. We got married October 1st and spent some time at home before going on our honeymoon. During that time, we opened our cards and gifts and made a list of who gave what so that we can reference it when we write our thank yous. We noticed that a few people that came to the wedding that are close friends did not give a gift. That is totally fine, but my concern is that they did indeed give a gift and it got lost in the shuffle after the reception. All of the cards were in this huge basket and the gifts got divided up between my mom and my dad's cars. How should we word a thank you note to these folks that may have given a gift, but we didn't receive one? We don't want to offend anyone that may have given a card or gift that was lost.
