- Wedding: June 2014
Yesterday we recieved two packages in the mail from Crate and Barrel – both from FI’s aunt and uncle. One is a wedding gift, the other is a shower gift. She told FI that she mailed it so I wouldn’t have to deal with shipping or packing it since I have to fly for my shower. Sweet of her, for sure! But here’s my problem:
<br />So – I know that etiquette states that gifts should be opened immediately and thank yous promptly sent out, but here’s my problem.
The thank you notes, if I put them in the mail today, won’t arrive until Saturday at the earliest, and likely Monday (different coasts).
BUT, the aunt will be at my shower this weekend in St. Louis. So should I just hand her the thank yous? Or should I mail the wedding thank you and hand her the shower thank you? Or hand her the wedding thank you and then mail the shower thank you immediately after, being sure to reference how kind it was of her to travel and how I enjoyed seeing her? Or just write one thank you and mail it/hand it/pigeon carry it?
