We're planning to use a photo (or photos) from the wedding and printing cards with them. I've always liked it when I've received photo card thank yous from friends/fam, so it seemed like a fun idea :-)
I bought mine on etsy, and then i also got a set at Target for about $12 for 50. I've been sending those to the guys that I think won't notice the cute ones I got from etsy. :)
We bought somewhat expensive invitations, so we saved money on the thank you cards by making them ourselves to match. That way we were able to send cards right away instead of waiting for photos + printing/delivery, and it only cost a few dollars for nice cardstock and envelopes!
We're also going the photo thank you card route, our photographer provides us with the cards as part of our photography package.
If more traditional cards are your style, I would definitely say get whatever ones you like. I don't think they need to match the invitations. I actually got some really cute bridal shower thank you cards from Joann Fabrics, since the photo ones won't be ready until closer to our wedding.
I ordered a few custom ones from Vista print but also just bought a pack of 50 from Target. They are the kind that coordinate with the wedding invitations. I think this is definitely something you should try to save on unless you are doing something very custom like with a professional photo.
Its crazy how many thank you notes I have already sent out and its not even time for the wedding!
Although I think photo thank you's would be AWESOME, I would like to be able to send out thank you's as soon as we receive our gifts (which will probably be before the wedding for most of them). Thanks for the thoughts & ideas!!

I found pretty ones at Staples, and said 'Sold'! I think they were $9.99 for 50.
If you want to send out as you go then just go pick up a pack at the store. I designed my own invites with a green scroll and I just found some invites at Target that had some green vines or something on them as thank you notes. I think it was like 50 for $10
I'm also a fan of Thank you photos. We're doing a thank you photo post card and we sent post cards for save the dates so I guess that matches?
But I don't think they have to match at all, so don't stress about it?
We ordered ours when we purchased our invitations. Target does have a lot of very pretty ones too that are much more affordable.
I picked up some pretty ones at staples. The ones that coordinate with our invitations and I like the idea of sending out different designs.
i'll be making ours myself - to match our DIY invites.
Im doing the photo thank you as well. I alway thought that it was a way cute idea.
Just out of curiosity on these Thank you photo cards, do you also write on the back of them special notes? Or do you just send them with the picture with it saying thank you...addressed to the guest? A little direction would be lovely, thanks ladies!
We ordered the ones that matched our invitations but I also love the ones avaliable from various etsy sellers!
@bridget_124: I'd use the photo as the front of a greeting card or as a postcard and then write a personalized message on the inside/back.

Hi Bees,
Just curious - where did you buy your thank you notes? Did you buy ones that matched your invitations/other stationary or did you just buy something that you liked (whether or not it was in the same color scheme as the wedding)? The stationer I am buying our invites and such from is REALLY expensive for thank you notes so I was thinking of buying them locally but just haven't found any I'm happy with. Any suggestions on where to buy them?
Thanks!
Bella
