Yeah, I'd do them separately as well, and not on the same day. Maybe send the thank you the day before?
Uh...just to make sure, the invites are for the wedding and the thank-yous are for the shower? If so, then I think it would be okay. =) It would be nice to give them separately, so if you see these people on a regular basis, maybe give them to them in person.
I'd probably send them seperatly. Can you try to hand deliver most? Are you having inner envelopes for the invites? If you are maybe you could put the Thank yous and the invites in seperate envelopes but both inside the main envelope to save postage and resources.
Nope you should do them seperate. It's just one of those things.
I would send them separate but you can do what you feel is best. I spent over $70 in postage for my invites and another $25.00 for my thank you notes from my shower. Save the money if you need to. Do what you feel is best!
If you do end up including them with your invites, put them behind the entire invitation in a separate, sealed, addressed envelope.
Also, if the thank you notes are heavy enough, the post office will charge you for extra postage on the invitation.
That is not proper etiquette to send the thank you note with the invitation. It's a seperate thing, you want to make your thank you special. It ruins the presentation of your invitation.
I agree with all the posters here. It just doesn't fit! I hand delivered as many thank yous as I could, even though it took a couple weeks. That's how I avoided the extra postage etc.

I had my first shower two weeks ago & am writing my thank yous at the same time that we're assembling our invitations. Is it alright to tuck the thank you's into the invitations? They are small (3x3) plantable, recycled paper. I'd just hate to waste paper, postage, & transportation resources if it's alright not to.
