Hope I’m not reading too much into this…
I am about to order our thank you notes…and have an etiquette question…
On my shower thank yous, I will have my name printed only. Unless I should have both?? Ahh!
However, on our wedding thank yous, whose name is printed? –my maiden name only, my maiden and his, married name? I thought I read you werent supposed to use your married name until after the wedding, and we will undoubtedly have gifts arriving before the big day…

For shower thank yous, your name only. Unless the gift was explicitly labeled for you and your Fiance. We received a few of these.
For wedding gifts, you should have both your name and his name on. If you plan on changing your name, put your new name down. I think we signed ours “The Smiths” or “E and C Smith” sometihing like that.
When we got our gifts early, i’d sign them “The soon to be smiths!” with a smiley face or somethign cute.

most people wrote out cards to my shower to the both of us (probably because most of our friends are friends with both of our families) so i put both of our names on the card. i don’t put last names so i didn’t really have to worry about doing maiden and married name, but i wouldn’t put married name until after the wedding.

For the shower invites, if it’s just you at the shower, you can have it be just your name. But, since technically the gifts are usually for both of you – you could have both names.
As for thank yous for wedding gifts. Any gifts that you receive before the wedding, you are to use your maiden name. After the wedding, you can use your married name.
Hope this helps!

We used the same thank you’s for both the wedding shower and the wedding presents. We just had our first names printed on the cards, and then the envelopes only had our address, no name.

Thanks bees. I think I’ll go with the first names printed on the front, that way they’ll be versatile! 🙂
You all rock!
