My wedding is just around the corner, so I figured I would get on top of my “thank you” speech. I will be doing it because my groom is terrible at public speaking, and I really don’t mind it. We will write it together though. I hope it doesn’t seem “weird” that I’m the one giving it. Do you have any suggestions on how to make it funny?

Definitely isn’t weird for you to do it not Fiance, but I also don’t think it is necessary. If you really want to, I think short and sweet is best. Something like “thank you to everyone who traveled to be here on this special day, and for all of you who helped woth the planning. There are some people who were unable to be here but they are in our hearts. please have fun tonight and enjoy.” Anything else I think should be saved for the rehearsal dinner and/or be said in smaller groups.
