I received in the mail a really generous gift from a family who was invited to my shower. I’m assuming they can’t come, because they sent the gift to my house and wrote a note in it and everything.
I absolutely want to thank them for the gift. I’m thinking that I send them out as I receive the gifts, but someone else said to wait until after my shower since the gift was meant for the shower.
What’s the proper etiquette.
(And I know I’ve read posts like this before, but I can’t seem to find them)

I would send out a thank you as soon as you get the gift. that way they know you got it and you don’t forget down the road to send one out.

@FoxyBride14: Send thank you notes as the gifts come in (this is for both the wedding and the shower). It is totally acceptable, lets people know you got the gift, and it is one less thing you have to do as it gets closer.
