A seller on etsy- ateliertami. It took her 2 extra weeks past our original due date (and my wedding is now less than a month away; 4 weeks from today) and I expected it shipped MUCH sooner than it was which is what led to our disagreement... basically, I became worried she had not completed it and was stalling and trying to finish it and I wouldn't get it until just a couple days before my wedding. But, it IS complete and after I asked for a refund and she proved to me the dress IS done, we apologized to one another, she agreed it would DEFINITELY ship Monday, and she will send it 2 day shipping. But, regardless of that headache, it is undeniable that she does amazing work. Her replicas are spot on.
Wow, her work is good. Glad to hear you are finally getting your dress. Are we going to get a sneak peak when you finally get it?
My FMIL will be here next week for a day or two... I think I can get her to take a full length pic to show.
I hope you note the timing in a review on Etsy. Even if the dress is flawless, it was wrong of her to put you through all the worrying!
I can't wait to see it safe and sound with you on Wednesday!
I had ordered a dress through her and ended up canceling it. She kept lying to me about it almost being done and by the time I canceled me order, it was 3 months after her promise date to me. She does fantastic work, but I felt really blown off and lied to a lot. I hope you do leave it in the feedback, she pushed off my dress so much that I now can't leave feedback about it.
Your dress looks BEAUTIFUL, though! I'm glad you finally got it!
Its beautiful!!! Through all this pain there will be so much beauty!!! && im sure a few tears of joy when its finally in your hands! xo
Another bee sent me a PM saying the same thing yesterday, which is what finally convinced me that the missed shipping dates and delay were because the dress wasn't finished. Since it IS finished, I'm not sure why she put off shipping so many times, but as long as I get it, I don't really care anymore!
I will be fair in my etsy review and say she does great work, but it will likely take longer than she will expect and quote you, so build in plenty of extra time into your OWN timeline as far as ordering it. She's great at what she does, but I think overestimates how quickly she can get things done and how many orders she can take on at once.
That is a gorgeous dress and you are going to make one beautiful bride!
Sorry for all the headaches :(
Hey date-twin!!! That looks awesome! Can't wait for your first fitting pics! I just posted mine, my dress is not done yet either. So don't worry if your dress needs work if you get it on wednesday :-) still plenty of time (said my seamstress :-))
@ohheavenlyday: She really does great work, you're right about that. I placed my order with her in January and it was suppose to be done in April and each time I contacted her about it, it was always "it's almost done, you'll have it no later than blah blah blah.." and it was the same thing like 3 or 4 times. She told me at one point it was pretty much done and just needed to finish the corset part and when she finally sent me a picture, she wasn't even done with the skirt (which she previously told me she was). I think you're right, she does overestimate the time for dresses and possibly takes on too much at one time.. but her work speaks for itself (that's partially one of the reasons why I still have an order placed with her for my bridesmaids). I'm so happy that you finally are getting your dress and I hope it's just as pretty in person as it is in the pictures. =D
What really set me off was I put my order in in January for my AUGUST wedding! So I figured that gave her 6 months to make it, and our agreed date was July 10th, which gave me 6 weeks of wiggle room. Then it was just... I'll ship it tomorrow... I'll ship it in 2 days, and I don't think she was understanding my sense of urgency, and my frustration that after 6 months, it was seemingly not ready. FH said it's because she's European and they just have a completely different attitude toward time than we do, which might be true, but still wasn't helping me NOT freak out that I would be getting my dress like, 2 days before my wedding!
I hope it doesn't need work! She had me measure myself a few times to get the absolute correct measurements and made it to fit, so I THINK it should be fine when it gets here. The only thing I will probably change is to switch the ribbon at the waist for a thinner one like the original. I am very small (5'1, 95 pounds) and worry that the larger ribbon will make me look a little girl or a babydoll or something. But other than that, I hope it doesn't need anything else!
Wow that dress is absolutely gorgeous! Even so, it might not be worth the hassle and do warn others about it!
That turned out really great!! That is amazing cant wait to see it on you. I think that you just needed to light that fire.
Wow it's stunning!! Any pics of u wearing it??!
I have ordered mine thru tami too! Wedding is next October- I said I want it finished by June !!! To be extra safe!! I am having a calico version made to make sure fits perfectly - cant wait
I just sent her a mail asking if she could be able to do the wedding dress of my dreams that I can't afford. Hopefully I will get a positive answer back! :)

SO some of you have been following my saga with my Greek dressmaker who kept putting off the shipping date of my dress and had not shown me pictures yet. I ended up asking her for a refund because I no longer believed my dress was actually completed or that she would send it in time for my wedding. We had an argument about it yesterday, but she finally sent me pictures of it, both incomplete and today, the completed version, and I had to apologize to her as I promised I would if she sent me pictures as proof, because it IS done and she did an amazing job. I still wish she had done this earlier because she made herself look evasive and it REALLY seemed as though I had no hope of ever seeing my dress... but it's done now, I'll be getting it Wednesday, and I am SO excited to see it.
Regardless of this bump in the road with her, I have to say, she does amazing work. Here is the original:
And here is mine:
I am so excited to see it!
Thank you SO MUCH to all of you who followed along and helped me figure out what to do. It was stressful, but at least now I can say all's well that ends well!
