@Snara11: My mother had an indoor ceremony and she said that was miserable (it rained and was cold). My parents married November 2nd, 1985....but she said that in PA it is typically rainy and cold during that time of the year. I was looking into that month, but opted to go for September. I would look into the weather trends for your wedding date over the years in your area. That would be a pretty good indicator of what it may be like.
I have lived in PA all my life. DON'T DO IT. Doen't matter if it is a short ceremony. It's cold and dreary. No leaves on the trees. Just depressing. Your older guests will be especially unhappy. How about a beautiful indoor venue (maybe a historic building) with a fireplace and candlelight? Or a gorgeous church or even a hotel?
With this weather lately, you just can't tell. Today was nice and a quick outdoor ceremony would be ok. Some years there is snow on Turkey day. Its just hard to tell. I would say opt for indoors with the possibility of outdoors if the weather is nice.
@megan215: I think that sounds like a great idea! That way the OP has options in the event the weather is not conducive to outdoor activity.
That is what we are doing. We are getting married in December. It should be cold in Philly, there are those days when it is 60 degrees. We wanted the option to have it outdoors if the weather is nice enough....probably won't, though it would be my dream for December on the East Coast outdoors. :) Hey, a girl can dream!
I have also lived in PA all my life and I agree, don't do it!

My fiance and I are planning a wedding for next November 26th and are thinking about having a short outdoor ceremony. We will provide blankets, hot apple cider and possibly heaters! My mother is freaking out at the idea of having an outdoor ceremony. She thinks it will be too cold and everyone will be miserable. Please help! Has anyone ever had an outdoor wedding in PA in November?!
