That’s fantastic! I don’t understand why people get all bent out of joint about weddings close together personally. I mean, there are only 52 weeks in the year after all… I had a friend get married the weekend before us, another one two weeks after (unfortunately we couldn’t attend because we were on our honeymoon), and my ex and his fiance are in a couple of months. Exactly as you’ve said, it’s been fantastic to have someone to chat with about wedding stuff. Plus I’ve been loving going to other weddings to get ideas for our own! And I’m super mushy now when I go to weddings, I cry a lot and spend a lot of time snuggled up to Darling Husband πŸ˜‰ I think it’s great to have weddings close in date! It made me so much more excited for our own!

It’s so fun sharing an engagement with a close friend! Our best friends got engaged a month after us and got married 5 weeks after our wedding, and we wouldn’t have wanted it any different. Not only did we get to share the engagement and planning process, but we got to enter the next life stage together. So cool!

My wedding date is 14 months away from the day FH proposed. I’ve had 3 close friends get engaged in this time and all 3 have set their dates for before mine. I also found out that 2 of my friends will be having babies a month before the wedding and my best best best friend who now can no longer be in the wedding because of it is due a week before my wedding! There are also hints that my cousin will get a proposal any day now and she’s always said she doesn’t want a long engagement. I don’t know things like that don’t bother me one bit, life goes on and it just makes me happy because I’m in for a year full of love and special occassions!!

I’m glad you ended that story on a positive note, because 15 weeks is plenty of difference for a wedding in the same family. Kudos for keeping your wits about you and having a good attitude.

Darling Husband proposed to me right before his brother was about to propose to his Fiance. He pushed back his proposal a few weeks, but it was fun planning our weddings together. We got married in April, and they are getting marrid this weekend! And now we have a little one on the way, so there’s even more excitement in our family.

lol I admit I rolled my eyes and was about to back out. A close friend is getting married at the end of May 2012 and we are getting married on June 16th 2012.

I would like it, mostly because I hate the attention of the whole thing. I’m comfortable with sharing things, I guess that might be what happens when you have a twin.

I couldn’t agree more that it was awesome having a few friends to share our wedding planning with! I also have to admit that I was about to roll my eyes and go to a different post, but I’m glad I read on.

My best friend was proposed to about 6 months before me, but didn’t set her date until 2 weeks after I set mine. We set ours for 9/1, and she set hers for 8/18. We were both very adament about having us each at each others’ weddings, so we made sure it wasn’t during either of our honeymoon times. But, we had a lot of fun planning together! Her fiance was deployed in Iraq and we did a lot of stuff together because of it. She was often tagging along with my husband and I at different venues and vendors and it was nice to have someone else’s opinion on things. We ended up using some of the same vendors, but we had very different weddings. It was awesome to have someone there!

Good for you for being the bigger person and making the most of this!!

I can say myself I am one of those bride’s who is a little miffed about a similar situation. My cousin just got married to his highschool sweet heart who I love, but GAH I just can’t stand the fact that we have such similar weddings back to back!
