…you realize that all of your friends that got engaged have already set their wedding date and will effectively be married before you’re even engaged.
I know that the end of your undergrad career is when that stuff takes off, and I’m trying really hard not to let it get to me. My SO and I have talked about marriage at length, and have looked at rings several times; he actually saw something he thought I might like where he is living right now so I’m going to take a look next weekend. But, I still don’t know when the proposal is gonna happen, and it’s just that moment when you feel like everyone has their life together before you.
To be honest I’m kind of caring less and less about the ring as time goes on. As in, I think I’d much rather just go to a store, find something affordable I really like, and get it resized instead of agonizing over something really specific.

end of your undergrad?! Girl you are so young!! I know that’s probably NOT what you want to hear but really consider the posibility that your friends are just rushing. You only get married once so I say enjoy each phase of your life to the fullest!

@Dell79: Ha, well, I’ve heard that several times. I’m only two years younger than when my own mom got married, though. And my SO’s dad proposed when he was 18.
I don’t see why we can’t enjoy each phase of our lives together. (:

I know what you mean for sure. In order to not make yourself crazy you shouldn’t compare your parents or friends lives to yours. My mom would have been engaged and pregnant with me already at the age I am now, however I’m pursuing a different career that wouldn’t allow for that right now. I’m in undergrad as well.
It will happen, believe me I know it’s incredible hard to be patient but it sounds like he’s on board with you if he’s looking at rings alone =]
