Yay congrats! My fiancé was pretty pleased too when I wanted a moissanite. And I LOVE my moissanite!

LOL I love the part about babies.  My FI always starts talking about what a good mom I’ll be when he’s liquored up.  Sober FI isn’t too interested in having kids…nor am I…at least not anytime soon!

@qwerty2k1:  Yay!! That is a great update! My SO was also quite pleased when I told him that I wanted lab-created gemstones like moissanite – maybe they should use that as advertising ploy lol. What kind of shape and setting(s) do you like?

Yay, another moissanite convert! I told my SO I’d rather spend the money on a house than on a diamond, but he wasn’t convinced. At least not until I told him that said house would include a smoking lounge that would also serve as his knife gallery and house his cigars in a big humidor. Then the wheels started turning, haha. And that ring you posted is a beauty.

My wanting a sapphire and knowing sources to get them on the cheap probably sped things up on this end.

@qwerty2k1:  Girl as a ph d student who knows several women in and out, after youre done can be just as bad as during for having children…maybe even worse if you are at a research institution trying for tenure or trying to establish a career. Make sure the school you pick is family friendly just in case you decide you dont want to wait 5-7 years!

@Tarheelgurl:  Your description of that smoking lounge would be heaven for me lol

@qwerty2k1:  That ring is soo pretty and I’m not just saying that to be nice. We were choosing between that ring and the setting that we ultimately went with – the latter won out simply because the band was going to be thicker as thin bands do not look good on me. But I still gasp everytime I see that ring – it’s just so pretty Smile
