Hi all,
I know how important this group was to me when I clicked over the 6 month mark - and while none of us want to be here, it is 'nice' to have something to look forward to when you get AF for the 6th month in a row...
So - lets start with a roll call:
Cycles/months trying:
Current CD/DPO:
Chart (if you have one):
Any known issues?
Supplements/medications:
Next steps?
For fun - do you have a furbaby? Details, please:
Cycles/months trying: 16 months / approx 13 cycles
Current CD/DPO: CD22 / 3DPO
Chart (if you have one): http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/hamikay
Any known issues? Irregular cycles (seem to be regulating thanks to Naturo), PCOS ruled out with blood tests, possible Endo yet to be investigated. Hubby had low SA, but since treating his IBS has got normal results in a follow-up test.
Supplements/medications: Herbal mix from Naturo with liquid Vitex, good pre-natal with high Vit Bs, CoQ10, Fish Oil. Hubby takes good quality Mens Multi.
Next steps? When IF period starts in 9 days, i'll make an appointment to get a new referral to a different OB/Gyn, as I didn't like the one I saw a couple of months ago.
For fun - do you have a furbaby? Details, please: Our 5 year old Cavoodle 'Charli', who is the cuddliest, most loyal dog I've ever met. She's just been trying to cuddle me, even though it is nearly 40 degrees here (104 fahrenheit). She's the cutest!!

@hamikay: Thanks for this, Hamikay. I think I need to join here now. I just got another pregnancy announcement on facebook and I just want to cry. I'm having such a hard time feeling happy for them. All my friends who avoided for so long are getting pregnant and here's me, who's been wanting a baby for so many years but waiting for the right guy to come along taking longer than anticipated to conceive. I probably ate too much candy today and it's making me down and hormonal. I hope I can be happy for them tomorrow. For now I need the support of people who've been trying for awhile, even if it's not nearly as long as I know some people have been trying.
Roll Call:
Cycles/months trying: 6th right now
Current CD/DPO: CD7
Chart (if you have one): http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/ScottishMrs
Any known issues? Not really. I have irregular cycles, but the doctor won't do any tests for awhile yet. I'm not seeking out one who will though because I'd rather put off needles as long as possible because I don't like them.
Supplements/medications: Vit C, Calcium, Cranberry, Folic Acid, Vit B Complex, Acidophilus, and [Hallelujah Acres] TrioMax.
Next steps? I'm thinking about talking to a naturopath in a couple of months if I don't start to O sooner. I'm also thinking about starting to take chlorophyll, Vit E, and some kind of Fish Oil. Oh, and I want to buy some grapefruit juice to increase EWCM because it dried up before O last time; gotta keep those swimmers alive as long as possible.
For fun - do you have a furbaby? Details, please: I have a little horsey baby named Alondrah. She's turning 7 in May. She's a bay Arabian-Standardbred Cross and has no markings whatsoever. I don't have any pictures of her on my laptop and my camera is not working right now, so I can't show her to you all. But she's the cutest little girl ever! I haven't been able to finish breaking her yet though because I got a bad concussion the year I was planning to start and I haven't been able to ride since. I might be able to next summer though (unless I'm really pregnant).
ETA: I found a picture of when I got her when she was just a yearling:
@ScottishMrs: oh lady, i feel for you, announcements can be so hard!!! my worst one was an 'oops' from an old school friend who had only just started dating her new boyfriend (they called the baby girl "Chance" though, so that still makes me laugh - may as well have called it "Mistake"!!). And, my close Uni friend got pregnant on her honeymoon, when we'd been trying for about 8 months, and is now due ANY day... and we're still not even pregnant. It's so tough :(
You may have seen me write this before, but I try to remind myself that somebody else's pregnancy/baby plays NO role in my own chances of getting pregnant - and, you never really know how long someone has been trying or what they've gone through before (unless they tell everyone in their update... or in the name of the child!!).
In terms of 'needles' - remember you'll need to do lots of blood tests when you do get pregnant, so you could kind of think of it as a training programme, or 'desensitisation', getting tests done now :) But you also know how much I love my Naturo, so I'd totally suggest finding one! Although, she did use my blood tests to help her decide on my supplements.
Wow - a horse furbaby!!! That's an unusual one! She sounds beautiful - do you have a pic, or a link to a similar-looking horse??
@hamikay: I know what you mean. I've been trying to tell myself that she's been married for almost 2 years and they may have been trying since the very beginning. Her way of announcing was adorable too. SHe posted a picture of herself holding her tiny bump and captioned it: "There are two people in this picture. Can you find the 2nd?".
I'm not actually just afraid of needles. They makemy blood pressure drop when they go in and I almost pass out. I've actually managed to avoid all needles for years except for my allergy testing and when I had a possible ovarian cyst in grade 9 or 10. Even if it's going to have to happen later, I'd still rather wait. I'm a chicken.
I found a picture of her from a few years ago and posted it above :). We weren't able to have pets because my parents and I have severe animal allergies, but I won her when I was in a 4-H club and I board her at a friend's stable. I take lots of allergy pills around her though and I'll have to find something else for when I'm pregnant. I don't think I could ever bear to give her up though. She's been my baby for 6 years and I love her.
@ScottishMrs: that is a sweet way to announce a pregnancy! see, one of the (few) good things about this taking so long is that you have longer to plan these sorts of moments out :) it could have very well taken them over a year to get pregnant, if it allows you to feel happier for them, then i'd just convince myself that is the case :) I was all upset about an announcement from a lovely couple we met on our Honeymoon, but then I later found out they'd been trying for 9 months (they'd started before the wedding).
Thanks for posting a pic of your horse!! She's amazing! One awesome part of my Naturo treatment is that I barely get any hayfever symptoms anymore, and I used to be quite bad. Perhaps a Naturo could help with your allergies too?!
I used to be terrified of needles too (not low blood pressure/passing out bad though) until I needed vaccinations before a big holiday, then I just 'had' to get over it. I even started donating blood just before TTC - but gave it up when I told them we were TTC and they said to keep my blood for my own purposes at this stage in my life ;) All my nurses have been great when I tell them I'm nervous - they lie you down and keep an eye on you. You'll be OK when you have to do it - i understand avoiding it until then though!!
@hamikay: Thanks for starting this thread. I think its time I join.
Cycles/months trying: This is our 7th actively, NTNTP since Feb. 12 though.
Current CD/DPO: CD18/2DPO
Chart (if you have one): http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/3e5d15/
Any known issues? Not as yet. DH is going for an SA on Tuesday, and I finally made an appointment with a OBGYN in the area, specialized in fertility as rumour has it. We'll see.
Supplements/medications: Folic Acid, Mucinex, B6 and DH is on vitamins, and extra Vit E.
Next steps? See above, no real plans other than that.
For fun - do you have a furbaby? Details, please: Here's bella, our family dog when she was just a puppy

@hamikay: I'm feeling a lot better today :). I love my naturo too. I want to wait to see him until I have a few more charts and maybe some blood tests though because I only have $300/year naturo coverage with my insurance and I want to have as much to help him out as I can before I go. He helped me so much when I was little though. He had better not retire before I see him again. When/if I see him, I'll have to talk to him about pregnancy and allergies and see what he can do for me.
It is time I join and introduce myself also.
Cycles/months trying: 8th cycle/9th month
Current CD/DPO: CD12
Chart (if you have one): I don't know how to link it.
Any known issues? nothing known related to fertility. I have pretty regular cycles 29-32 days....I did have a random 40 day one, but my body was attempting to ovulate multiple times during a very high period off stress. I did have Graves, but am post RAI and my levels are great now. DH has a few issues, type 1 diabetes and hashimotos, but they are well controlled I went to my midwife after 6 months with some concerns and did not get too much help, just a pep talk. She also said " with your history of Graves and ur husbands issues do u really want to pass all that on?" I was speechless and now feel that she is going to be of zero help. I have talked extensively with my Endocrinologist ( who also sees my husband) about the chances off passing these issues on and while the chance of T1 diabetes is higher when the father has it, she said there is no way to know who will feet it. His uncle with t1 diabetes has 2 kids neither of whom have it, but also neither of my husband's parents have it. I want DH to get a SA, his GP wanted us to go to a fertility place that charges like 2 K for a consult. I am hoping our endo will just give us a lab slip for one. Ugh these people are pissing me off.
Supplements/medications: I am on my thyroid medication, prenatal vitamins. I took guafenisen last month during my fertile time. DH insulin dependent, on thyroid med, and a multivitamin. I think I will start us both on Maca root this month( we have had a few months were DH cant finish during the fertile time)
Next steps?
keep trying, keep charting, hopefully DH can get a SA soon.
For fun - do you have a furbaby?
I have a 100 lb lab mix, he's the best!!
@august05: Oh man, I already don't like your midwife! I've had people say that to me because I have so many (non-fertility related) medical issues and absolutely no one has the right to say things like that! Are you able to get a new midwife? And who do you chart through?
@hamikay: Is that a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/Poodle mix? Ahhh OMG I want one. I have a Cavalier but I really think one day he needs a brother or sister, and I am so thinking of a a mix with a poodle or bichon. Yours is super adorable! Ok sorry, not meaning to threadjack or anything, but I sure do love seeing photos of adorable furbabies, so I will probably be thread stalking :)
@ScottishMrs: it's a group of midwives and I really liked the other one I saw, so I'm just hoping to avoid HER. If I go in again for fertility stuff and don't like what I hear I'll change. For now, I'm just trying to be patient ( I think that's the life lesson I don't seem to be getting.)
i use the fertilityfriend app on the iPad.
i hope none of you ladies are TTC for as long as i was. just stopping in to wish you all the best! xxo
@hamikay: thank you for reviving this thread! Charli is so freaking cute!
@picturemeurs: Bella is freaking adorable!! I praying DH's SA comes back amazing!
@wifegoodman: I love when you pop in. I am so freaking happy for you! I hope we all get to join you soon.
Guess I'll hope right on in!
Cycles/months trying: 13 cycles/2nd on Clomid 50mg

Any known issues? LOOONNNGG annovulatory cycles. I also had a block tube but we cleaning that out with a lap late last year.
Supplements/medications: Clomid 50 mg, mucinex, lovenox,we added a trigger shot this cycle, progesterone and prenatal vitamins.
Next steps? well i think we will do one more cycles of Clomid, maybe up it to 100mg with a trigger shot... I am really leaning towards just doing an IUI.

Supplements/medications: Prenatal, B-100 complex, Calcium & D3 supplement, green tea, Mucinex pills, Softcups after BD.
Next steps? Get pregnant? I truly believe we will get pregnant again, it's just a matter of timing and luck. I'm just hoping the next time will result in a sticky pregnancy. Time will tell.
For fun - do you have a furbaby? Details, please: Kevin, our almost 3-yr-old Boxer dog! He's a spoiled little diva, but he's amazing. The amount of love and joy he's brought to our lives is immeasurable. Love my little guy!
@hamikay: Charli just stole my heart! Look at that gorgeous face!
@ScottishMrs: What a pretty mare!
@picturemeurs: I hope your appointment and DH's SA go well for you! Keep us posted! Bella's a pretty appropriate name too! What a cutie!
@august05: I think it's time to get a new midwife! How dare she say something like that to you!?!
@wifegoodman: I hope you dropped some babydust on your way out! ;)
@MrsStrawberry24: OMG Jaylin is such a little stunner! Love his big eyes!
@august05: Ugh I can't believe your midwife would tell you that, hope you get answers soon.
@MrsStrawberry24: FX for when you test. And btw, that son of yours is gonna be an heartbreaker when he gets older. I can see where he got his looks from.
@MrsPuddingface: Thanks doll. Could help but smile at Kevin's picture. You can tell he has tons of personality.

@ScottishMrs: thank you!!
@MrsPuddingface: those big eyes melt my heart everyday! they also save him sometimes when he is misbehaving lol!
@picturemeurs: thank you pumpkin. I ready to accpet my BFN. One to Feb!
Hi to all the newcomers - so sorry you have to be here, but at least we have somewhere to come and support each other :) Let's all get out here soon, though, ok??!
@picturemeurs: aww, Bella is such a cute little puppy - how old is she now? Also, have finally worked out who "3e51d5" is in my friend list on FF, i've been searching the boards to find out who you are :D
@ScottishMrs: so glad you are feeling better, and that you already have a great Naturo to see!! that's a bonus that you don't have to search for one!
@cowgirlace: yes, her mum was a cavalier, her dad a poodle. Such a sweetie and so cute. Two friends also got cavoodles (often called cavapoos in US think) and they are equally well-mannered, cute and intelligent :)
@MrsStrawberry24: both of your babies are gorgeous!!! hope that pipe clean out has done the trick and you can add to your baby collection :)
@august05: oh, nothing worse than an insensitive doctor/midwife. It should be the first lesson in their training. hope you can find one you like and stick with them!!
@MrsPuddingface: oh, just look at Kevin!!! He's so cool :) Love your next step "get pregnant" - I'm sure you're nearly there - you've done it once!!
@aalliep: Stellar and Sugar look like best friends :)
@MrsPuddingface: girl! i dropped a whole bunch of baby dust :)
@hamikay: He's great. He's been treating me off and on since I was about 3 years old and even when I'm not seeing him I often self-treat by following the advice he's given me over the years. I put myself on the Candida Diet from mid-October to just before Christmas and as soon as I finish off my Christmas candy I'm going back on. I was feeling a lot better and it can't hurt my fertility. I'm also considering getting my thyroid tested because both of my parents have thyroid issues (one hypo and one hyper) and I just read that it could potentially cause fertility issues and can definitely cause irregular cycles. On an unrelated note, I love how there's someone on the boards who is in Australia because it means that I have someone to talk to when I'm up super late. I was posting here at about 2 in the morning last night!
@ScottishMrs: haha, yeah it's strange to be in such a different timezone to the rest of the bees - I check in to my threads when I wake up to see all the chatter that's happened while I was asleep :) If I stay up late I can sometimes catch the morning crowd. Your Naturo sounds awesome. And I've definitely heard of low or high Thyroid affecting fertility, I got mine tested for that reason a few months ago, but it was within range.
@hamikay: Oh sorry, sorry bout that, probably should have send you a message to let you know. I'm still trying to figure out how to change my FF link to my bee name.
Bella is still a puppy she'll be two in October. The picture must have been when she was about 2-3 months old.
Ladies I am so sorry to see you all here, but if we have to be here it is at least nice to be in good company! These threads have been such a comforting support for me. I've learned a lot, cried, laughed and vented. I hope all you ladies get as much out of this thread as I have. Baby dust to all! I hope to see lots of graduates!
@picturemeurs: To change the link you go to Sharing -> Setup then the link is there and can be personalized :).
@picturemeurs: ah - go to "sharing", then "setup" (under 'Charting Homepage') and then you can change your webpage address and write a little intro to sit at the top of your page :) took me a while to find this too. These instructions are for the webpage, but there are probably similar links on the mobile app...
@lonsk: and you are one of the best supporters here :) but we still want you to get outta here all the same ;)
@hamikay: Haha! Great minds think alike :). How're things in the land down under today?
Double post, but I'll take advantage of things.
There's trouble in paradise, ladies. DH got his marks back for last semester and things didn't go so well. He was supposed to be finished in April and now he might not be. I don't know yet how this will affect our TTC plans. *sigh*
So i caved a tested today, mid day so I didnt use fmu and it was a dollar store test and Got a BFN. Thought i might have seen a line but i'm thinking i'm out for this cycle :(. Trying not to get too sad but i just can't stop this big ole tears from falling.
Trying to stay encourage and believe that it WILL happen for us.
@hamikay: Thanks Sweetheart!, I always look forward to logging on and seeing your posts!
@MrsStrawberry24: Sorry for the BFN, is it possible you tested too early?, I'm not sure what CD you are on.
Thinking of you ALL! I was here for the first 13 threads - I want you all to graduate so badly! Praying for only good things for you all.
@ScottishMrs: things are SO HOT in the land down under!! We had a 41 degree day here today. Oh man, I'm sorry to hear about your hubby's results - I hope it doesn't change your plans!
@MrsStrawberry24: oh there are LOTS of reasons to discount that result - FX that the next one has two beautiful lines on it.
@lonsk: :)
@redsmarties: thanks lovely lady!! hope everything is going well with you? I was having a little lurk on the August board the other day :)
Yay!!! Thanks Hami for reviving the thread. I know this sounds bad, but I'm excited to see so many new faces. Not excited that you guys have to be here, but excited that maybe this thread will stay alive. When I first joined the TTC threads here on WB this was the first thread I turned to. It was and hopefully still will be an amazing thread for all of us ladies to turn to when we need hope, advice, and ears (eyes) to listen, and a place for us to help give advice and be that shoulder to "cry" on. XOXO
