I’m a little late, but we just looked at The Addison last weekend.  Loved the venue – hated the dates they had available.  A friend of mine got married there in 2009 – in the Mizner Ballroom (I prefer the dining room space).  The food was incredible – although at the time it was operating as a restaurant and it no longer is.  I am hoping the quality of their food hasn’t suffered as a result.  I think their minimum for Saturday evening is $22,000, but you might be able to work with them…. depends what time of day, what room, how many people, etc.  We calculated our price per person to be around $134 / $172 with tax – including 6 pass arounds, salad, filet, wedding cake, and 5 hour open bar.  Another thing to be careful about – it’s right next to the traintracks….. you can request a train schedule but due to security, they won’t tell you the exact time trains might pass (freight and passenger).  As long as it doesn’t happen during the ceremony, I think it’s fine.  Good luck!

  • Wedding: September 2012

Hey just wanted to add :

After looking at many other venues we finally ended up at The Addison. My heart stopped, the 200 year old Banyan trees the soft romantic feel of the property made it easy to fall in love with. I knew that it was exactly where I wanted to have our wedding. We love the dining room which is 2 stories with so much open space. It’s wonderful

if you’re willing to be flexiible with dates they WILL work on price. We were able to secure Sunday 9/23/12 for a minimum of $8500 on a Saturday in September the minimum was $14000

We chose September for the sake of our out-of-town guest. Flights and hotels are much cheaper. Our guest are staying in the tower suites of the Boca resort for just about 1/3 of their current prices.

@chantallyxo – how much is it going to be per person for the wedding? I’m looking into the Addison as well.  Do you have to pay extra for linens/chair covers/bartenders ect or were those included?

Hi everyone!

I have booked the Addison for my event and I can’t wait!  They are just so beautiful that you almost have to be willing to shell out.  But at the same time, as said earlier by @Chantallyxo it very much depends on the day/month etc.  We were looking at January (our anniversary is in January) but it was just too much. Minimum of 15000 on F&B.  But we moved it to May on our anniverary day (24th) and have a 11000 F&B minimum. If you pick a preferred baker from their list, the cake price also counts toward your F&B. Considering as well that we are doing an open bar … it’s not a hard mimimum to meet.  I feel that the price is comparable to doing a wedding at just any old hotel banquet hall, but you get so much more character in the venue as well as the advantage of an all-inclusive experience (not having to travel between ceremony and reception, and the Addison is KNOWN for their food).  Not to mention Helene, the coordinator there, really gave me the feeling that everything would be entirely under control and she has every detail on lock.

As for per person – the way I see it it’s not so much of a per person matter. You have a minimum to meet depending on the time of your wedding and depending on how many people you have, you might be able to stop your price at that minimum.  Mine might be just over it… because of all the things we want.  But if you are on a budget, maybe just keep it to 2 simple hors d’oeuvre choices and don’t do open bar.  I believe last time we did the math, with open bar, cheese platters, 2-3 hors d’oeuvre choices for cocktail hour, salad, meal, and dessert it was about $130-$140 per person for 95 people.  But depending on final guest count and food choices it may change.

I will certainly add pictures after my event but each time I have to go by the location I just get chills with excitement about having my wedding there.

@angeharris:  White linens and mahogany chairs are included.  The chairs I believe have 2 options but the ones I mentioned that they offer were really nice looking so that’s fine.  I am renting silver linens and pink napkins from Over the Top in Davie, FL.  Their prices are decent for rentals depending on how many tables you have. I can’t remember what exactly the numbers were, my parents are taking care of that part.  1.50 per napkin though, since I do remember joking about it. They have cheaper options as well I just much preferred that fabric over the other. In the color I wanted it was a noticable difference.

You do pay for bartenders… about 125/each I believe.  They recommended 2 for my wedding size.  But if I remember right I believe that counts toward your F&B as well.

Im looking at the addison for the reception but would like the ceremony at a church. Anyone know/married in a church that has later ceremony times then 2pm? The only time we can reserve the addison is for 7pm. Thats way too much down time for people. Any ideas would help.
