bahahahaha I would have freaked... and said something completely awkward like "ummm nice boobs, can you put them away now?".
This really made me laugh... I go to the gym every day and I have yet to see someone doing that! lol
Once at the pool I walked into the change rooms to see a buck naked woman hand washing her swimsuit in one of the sinks. I thought that was kind of weird...
I find the squats HILARIOUS though. Hasn't she seen the Seinfeld episode about good vs bad naked???
The lady obviously thought she was in her PRIVATE bathroom. Where we all do things we would NEVER subject others to =P
hahaha..I hate naked people at the gym. Back in the day our parents got us a family membership at the Y. A lady was in the sauna comes out butt naked and asks me if I can scrub her back with her exfoliating brush..I was so young and naive and didn't know what to say so I was like OK, my mom walked in and was all shocked and confused lmao....I don't know WTF I was thinking..or what the gross lady was thinking for that matter.
hahaha the Squats part is what makes this HILARIOUS!!! There are always naked people at the gym, it doesn't bother me (or anyone, it seems) at all - but usually everyone keeps to themselves and is only naked when it makes sense to be naked (while changing, getting out of the shower, etc).
Once after a Bikram yoga class, the class was waiting in the shower line (there were only 3 showers and about 30 people trying to get to work) - and one girl left her shower curtain open to talk to her friend in line. This was OK - but then she decided to shave!!! The lifting of the leg/bending over/etc in front of everyone else in line was too much for me!!!
That's the only time I've seen gym nudity be very tactless.
hahaha...my FI manages a Y and you should hear some of his stories about inappropriate clothing, naked people in the showers, etc.

umm once i was changing at the gym and a naked girl walked over (her locker was near mine). she proceeded to bend down to get all of her stuff out of the locker and basically stuck her nasty butt in my face (like, literally 18 inches away). i was so shocked and disgusted i was like "um EXCUSE ME????" and she just gave me a dirty look. then she talked on the phone, while naked. THIS IS NOT YOUR HOUSE, IT'S A FRIGGIN GYM!
needless to say, i started using a locker in a different area after the naked butt fiasco.
Yes! Exhibitionists every where! I'm all for being comfortable in your skin, and it is a locker room... but do you really have to lotion up, butt naked, with one leg up on the bench?
The best story I have isn't mine, but my co-workers - a naked lady was walking around their locker room talking to everyone, and then proceeded to take out her underwear and put on a PAD!
Whoa. I was pretty open in high school during sports but these are STRANGERS. and seriously, nobody wants to know intimate details like how you keep your lady parts, you know? i am scarred by that image for awhile. and SO glad i see a bikini waxer =]
But seriously how are people ok with just letting it all hang out?! The FIRST thing i do is put on undies and a bra, then i feel it's ok to lotion up and drop the towel.

When I worked at a coffee shop a couple years ago, I went to the same gym as one of my semi-regular customers. One day in the ladies locker room I saw her, standing at her locker completely naked, and reading a newspaper. This was among one of the many reasons why I was happy to leave that job.

I did once have a lady tell me she liked my dress....while I was pulling it up and my chest was still half out and I almost jumped!
Apparently there's a lady called 'naked lady' at two of my friends gym who does stuff like this in their locker room. But she brings in her own boombox and dances naked. And this is in their work gym on the first floor of their office building here downtown!!! She does it often enough to have gained a nickname!
Ahhh that's crazy! I really don't mean to sound horrible but usually the people who are running around completely naked are the people that look like my grandma or something and I get nauseous.

Okay naked squats are freakin hilarious!!! Talk about being comfortable in your body... I totally agree with MissAsB, why don't the gorgeous people who would actually look good naked ever walk around au naturel?! I'm having flashbacks of this gigantic German couple wearing tiny thongs last time we were in Cuba. Thongs and only thongs. And their thongs were being eaten by places I don't want to talk about. LOL!
this is hilarious! at my gym, it's definitely the really old people who are completely naked and just walking around. my fiance said in the guys locker room there are ALWAYS naked guys just hanging around (pun intended), and that they'll like put one leg up on the bench and talk to each other! i laugh, but man, that's a little disgusting! lol
I go to a different gym than my every day gym when I go to swim, and let me tell you... gym with a pool = random naked women chatting w/o clothes on.. it's like it gives them an excuse.. "well I had to get out of my suit"...
I'm not a prude, but I don't want to see all of that! I know in some cultures it's acceptable, even normal to be at the bath naked with other women.. but not in mine...
But the squats thing.. thats hysterical, and random.. how weird! Sorry you had to see that!

There is another naked lady in the morning, but she's like 80+ years old. She's super nice and will talk to you, facing you, while 100% naked. A little weird, but at least she's not DOING stuff while she's naked, except dressing.
@ bakerella, LOL. We went to the dominican republic for our honeymoon and there were a bunch of larger older ladies with suntan oil ALL OVER their boobs, just splayed out. My husband did a double take. I could've sworn i heard them sizzle when I walked by, hahaha. But more so i'm thinking "ow....burnt nipples, really?!"
Why you would go to a work gym is beyond me, though!!! Worst Place Ever. I'm worried about bumping into people at the hotel gym in my workout gear (form fitted versus the boring things i wear to the office) at a conference next month we're all going to!

When I was younger I went with my grandma to her water aerobics class. We got out of the pool early because she wanted to hurry and get to the shower (it was one of those community showers) before it got crowed. So I go in there, still in my suit and start to rinse off so I can go change. My grandma walks in butt naked. WOW. Seeing your grandma naked is scary! But it get worse. I turned away fromher and was trying to quickly get all rinsed off and about 20 old women come walking in all chatting and laughing and all naked. I was surrounded by flabby naked old ladies! I ran from that shower! It still haunts me. I really hope I don't look like that some day!
Oh I completely forgot too! My dad is a mailman, and he delivers mail to this athletic club. He will sometimes go down to the locker room to go to the bathroom. But he says sometimes he does, there is this group of older men naked in there. They will all be standing around talking, laughing, having their leg propped up on the bench, towel drying themselves down there, and some of them even use the blow dryer down there!!!!! My dad was just stunned! He is always scared to walk into the bathroom there now!

I have a naked lady story. I was taking my 5 yo daughter and her friend to a swim class at the Y, and of course, we go into the locker room and there's a larger woman, butt naked, walking around. I immediately turned the girls around and led them away. So, my daughter, who has zero filter, exclaims loudly, "Whoa, friends name! Did you see that lady? She has great big boobies! That's so funny!" She's already very curious about boobies, oddly enough, so I'm a little worried about her swim lessons over the summer.
Oh the guys are just as bad! My old trainer would tell me about all the older naked guys running around and sitting on things naked eww! That makes me think of the Sex and the City epsiode where Charlotte is mad at Harry for sitting on the couch naked!
Oh I still can't get used to the naked people at the gym. I know it's the girls' locker room and all, but seriously, I don't want to see you naked!!!
I had a friend who had an awesome comment to this on her facebook page. It was around the beginning of the year, and she wrote something along the lines of, "woooaahhh new years resolutioner! I'm glad you made it to the gym, but it's a little to early to be parading around the locker room in your birthday suit. Put some clothes on!" I just can't get used to it!

@Rosie Girl- ROFL at old guys using the hand dryers. I once walked into the bedroom after FI had gotten out of the shower and was "air drying" in front of our fan. Boys are so funny and weird!!!!

I have been living in Japan for 3 years now, where nudity is regarded a little differently- public baths and naked hot springs and all.....
When I go to the gym locker room, EVERYONE is naked. We walk through the locker room to the showers, baths, and saunas... NAKED. We sit around and have chats wearing only panties. Other people (I don't cuz that's kinda weird...) do stretches, put on lotion, bend over/squat to put things away in their bags. Not just old ladies, everyone.
The weirdest thing I've seen is a lady doing yoga and stretching in the public bath. I've also seen someone doing that in the sauna, which of course, we enter... NAKED. That was kinda gross.
I guess when we move back to America in October I will have to be more careful!
I have no problem with nudity. I've actually been to nude resorts. But nudity in the locker room still creeps me out - I think because I'm not expecting it. Like you turn around and you're like, "WOAH! NAKED!" Hahaha. My gym has nice private showers with a changing area but I think I'm the only person that actually changes in one rather than walking out in a towel and stripping right in front of the lockers. Mind you, the area where the lockers are is pretty small and crowded!!
OMG the older ladies at the gym (like 50+) are ALWAYS the ones that walk around topless. I've not seen any nether bits yet, but wrapping a towel around the waist and taking a lap around the room with boobs flopping in the breeze? totally standard.

I have a celebrity naked gym story!
My husband and a large group of guys from work used to all take the early morning spinning class together. Afterwards, they would all head to the lockers and get ready for work. There used to be an old man who worked for my husband's company who was a part of this group. He was also the old guy who chose to strip down and hang out naked in the locker rooms. He had no shame, and would sit and talk to people he didn't even know on the couches. My husband and all of the guys always laughed about it because he was just old and didn't care.
So one morning all the regulars are there in the locker room, except for one. John Travolta, who lives in my small town, was there early and was watching TV on the couch in the locker room. So the old naked guy walks over, props his leg up on the coffee table, and goes "Hey John, you need to put me in your next movie!" My husband said JT was totally cool about it and just chatted him up for a few minutes, all while his old balls are hanging out in his face.
This guy died a few years ago, and this story always comes up if someone brings him up in conversation. He was a character for sure.

The naked people in the gym always make me feel better about getting changed in front of other people, because it makes me feel like, well, at least I'm not as naked as she is.
Haha! I love when the naked people want to talk to you. Really, why are you talking to me because I'm avoiding eye contact for a reason. I seem to run more into people who like to free ball. I was streching out one day and there was an older guy on one of those big balls working on abs and his junk was hanging out!!!!!! After my eyes melted out of my skull I went and told him that he fell out of his shorts. When he figured out what I was saying he scooped himself up and left. I didn't see him around the gym for a few months after that!!!!

There are always naked women at my gym but I am not one of them. I get so embarassed. There was this one young girl that was parading around butt naked about to get on the scale and all you could see was her BUSH! I mean, REALLY!!?? Have you EVER seen a bikini wax??

So i went to the gym tonight and halfway through the class i had to pee SOOO bad so i left real quick and ran to the ladies room. I almost stopped cold but, you know, was acting all cool. There was a woman standing buck naked in the middle of the room in front of the shower checking herself out (you know, the way you do at home to make sure everything looks A-OK...but i basically walked in and got a full frontal so it was a little in my face). THEN she started doing SQUATS right then and there. YES, SQUATS!! I was a little taken aback by the blatant nakedness-i've showered there many times but i dont just walk around buck naked touching myself and checking everything over and doing squats butt naked, either. If i'm changing, yeah, you'll probably see some butt or boob though.
I thought it was SO strange. She's obviously very comfortable being naked in front of people. Anybody else meet some very open people at the gym?! Does every gym have an exhibitionist?
