They should do a paper pregnancy (adoption) :) (and I hope you achieve your dream sometime!)
@Mrs. DG: The woman who is carrying twins after ten years of TTC is already a mom to two boys, both of whom were adopted. I know it's not the whole process, because there really needs to be more talk about that; it is something though.
Also, I was re-reading some of the profiles. There's one mom who is carrying a baby who tested positive for a genetic disorder which could result in stillbirth, heart problems, or nothing.
@TheFutureMcBride: I am going to check this out for sure, thanks for sharing.
Also, I am a big ol' NPR nerd too. DH makes fun of me all the time. I can't help it!
@Mrs. DG: Just read this in a comments section:

I listen to NPR all day at work because I love it. Terry Gross is my hero and Fresh Air is my jam (getting on Fresh Air my be on my dream Bucket List). Yes, I may be a nerd, but whatevs. (Just in case: Terry, if you're reading this, I would love to be your intern and would get your dry cleaning, coffee, whatever.)
My point with this thread is NPR is doing an ongoing segment about childbirth around the globe. It started the other week with the reporter visiting various parts of the world seeing what women go through to deliver a baby. One memorable segment had her going to Pakistan, the most worst place for a woman to deliver a baby because there is a high maternal and infant mortality rate there. For the American part, they enlisted several pregnant women due in mid-July (why didn't they select me? Maybe they fear the awesomeness) who have different paths to pregnancy and decided on various methods of childbirth.
From what I've read about the women and can remember, they have at least one woman who tried for over ten years to get pregnant and is now carrying twins, two women who had miscarriages (no stillborn moms, which I'm really disappointed about), several going natural either at home or in birthing centers. I figured it'd be really interesting for all the TTC, pregnant, and thinking about becoming pregnant women we have floating around.
Edit: Here's a link to the webpage where you can track the segment.
