My husband is away tonight, so I’ve agreed to watch The Bachelor for the first time ever. I’m supposed to discuss it with my friend after, but I feel I won’t make it all the way through 😛
So, help me out…how do these absolutely stunning ladies know that they want a relationship with this complete stranger? They’ve left their lives and jobs because…they think he’s hot?
I don’t get it. It’s like a game show, except people are becoming emotionally involved in entirely fake situations that are nothing like real life would be. And here I am watching it.
What is my life coming to? 😛
ETA: why do they call him by his first and last name? I don’t understand anything about this show. I should just stick with Sister Wives. At least it’s less awkward. Slightly.

I don’t even understand how it works. It all just seems stupid to me. Good luck!

Yeah, I can’t get into the Bachelor either. I don’t get the basic premise of dating several people at the same time, to get engaged after?

@MrsPanda99: I watch for entertainment value. This season doesn’t really have much in terms of “real” emotional connections, more like lust. In the last season of The Bachelor, the couple at the end was very much in love and just got married a few weeks ago. Some seasons are better than others.
Also, they don’t call him by his first and last name. His first name is Juan Pablo, his last name is Galavis.

It’s unrealistic, which is why is rarely actually works out. It’s just awkward good entertainment for the viewers. Also, Juan Pablo is his first name.
