I would love to join! I am starting at 241 lbs.
Used to weight 140 and over the last five years gained 100 lbs. which sounds crazy but I never paid close attention-that is 20lbs. per year, or 1.6 lbs per month. Not something you really notice until it has gotten out of control and I just got overwhelmed. I don’t feel like myself or have much confidence right now. The final breaking point was seeing pictures of myself only a couple years ago and the contrast to now and how unhealthy it really is.
So I joined a gym, hired a personal trainer (my gym is holding an 8 week challenge, so I am seeing a trainer 3x a week for the 8 weeks) with one extra cardio workout each week and eating low carb, low fat, and just healthier in general!

Oh man is anyone else having a rough time. I haven’t felt like eating anything lately and my stomach has been touchy. I feel like I have to force myself to eat. I dunno if its stress or being sick or what. I’m going to the doctor tomorrow though for a check up.
How is everyone else doing?

Probably a bit TMI, but I’m going to be getting my period here soon, and I’m always starving just before it. I have been terrible. Trying so hard not to snack randomly.
And in college every night is a reason to celebrate. I aced an exam for a senior level class last night, so I had to have a drink or two… (Honestly, I don’t drink all the time, I just feel guilty now because I’m trying to lose weight).
Workouts, when I have the chance to do them, are good, but I still feel so out of shape (I know, it’s only been two weeks, 4x/week) but it’s still annoying to not see or feel any changes.
Last night I looked at myself in the mirror and almost cried. I was a little tipsy, crawled into bed and told my SO not to touch me because I’m fat. He grabbed me and pulled me over to him and told me I wasn’t fat at all and that he loved me and was so proud of me.One of the many reasons I love him…

@Cornmuffin09: How sweet of your SO. 🙂 A few drinks once in awhile isn’t going to derail you, but habitually drinking could (at least it does with me).

Can someone explain how to be a part of this? I want to!

@itsashleyday: Post your starting weight and just weigh in every week. Outline your goals for the week and the challenge.

I’m doing okay. Today is one of the first days that I’ve started to feel tired early in the day and I’m pretty sure it’s because of my bad eating habits the past couple of days. Ice cream on Tuesday, then pizza, etc.
I’m struggling with a work/life balance and I feel guilty for wanted to exercise when I get home but it’s so late, usually close to 7, and all DH wants is dinner and to cuddle and I don’t want to do anything either but at the same time I need to get some weight off, I’m so unhappy with my body right now!

Hey Ladies! Hope everyone is having a good week! I have been super tired. I think the dreary, rainy weather here is the culprit!
@Mrs.Mittens: Is the morning on option? When I still worked I always worked out before work. I didn’t always want to get up early but when I did it felt soo good and made me feel refreshed for the day.
@erincredible: The weather has been weird here too. And I’ve eaten crap all week. I’m going to look through some recipies and change that.

Today I ran for almost 3 miles (Well… ran/jog/walked alternatively).
It was amazing to realize I’m actually changing! Because I know a week or so ago I would not have been able to do that. My weight isn’t changing too much, but I can look at myself in the mirror and see a bit of a difference in my waist (maybe that’s the bloat coming off too from period and starting all the water drinking? haha!)
Either way, very glad I discovered this, it’s fun and I can’t wait to post my weight for week 2, even if it doesn’t change much!

And about the drink thing from a few days ago, the problem is that I tend to only drink really high alcohol drinks (with food! I don’t want to be drunk). I’ve been learning to make martinis and other fun cocktail drinks, and really enjoying the hobby. But what fun is a hobby like that if you don’t drink ’em?
So that’s where my problem lies. When I make drinks, I drink them, and eat more food than I normally would to avoid getting drunk.
