    Heeey Ladies!

It's that time again! I'm in the home stretch to the wedding and I need to get my butt moving again, so TBL is back!

    Rules/Changes since the last thread:

    - The thread is moving from the full figured board to the fitness board.

    - Weigh-In's have changed! I will post the weigh in thread on Friday nights at about 4pm PST and you have all weekend to weigh-in with the weekly winner announced on Monday mornings!

    - I will calculate the winner based on weight loss percentage.

    - This competition will last 4 weeks. Any longer and people will usually start to drop off pretty quickly!

    - I'm going to continue to provide a weekly exercise challenge (in honor of Ms. Tattoo!)

The purpose of these threads is to provide support to our fellow bees that are trying to slim down and bee healthy. Please check-in frequently and share everything that you are doing. I encourage you to share workout routines, meal plans, recipes, etc. Anything that you think will help other bees out!

If you'd like to sign-up please respond to this thread with your starting weight and a little bit of info about yourself and what your goals are! If you'd like to keep your weight private, you can PM me your information.

    Good Luck Everyone!

Yay! I haven't exercised in nearly two months, so I needed this kick in the pants. I ended up losing a few pounds right after my wedding. At first I thought it was massive dehydration from the wedding day, but after a few weeks I'm thinking my muscle mass probably all melted away :(

    Starting weight: 144.2.

Thanks for starting this up again mittens!

How are you going to calculate weight loss percentage?

Also SUPER glad these threads are back. Earlier this week I was considering PMing you, Mittens, and begging you to start them back up.

    My starting weight is 192.0!

I will totally join with yall!! I'm Brooke, btw... new to Wedding Bee but ran across this post and had to join! I'm totally embarrassed to say I'm currently 292lbs at 5'8"..... however I have been walking everyday this past week and lifting weights. I've actually lost 5lbs already. Id like to lose at least 50 (if not more) before my April wedding. This may just be what I need for extra support! I hope its ok if I join you girls!

YAY! I'm so excited this thread is back! Just the other day I was thinking of PMing @mittens111211 to see when it would be starting up again! I can't believe so few people are joining :( That's ok we can be a super close group of weight loss buddies :) My starting weight is 215 :( But I am happy to say that just this last week I lost 7 lbs! Oh yeah! My goal for this week is 6 lbs! And I want to lose 50 overall before the wedding!

So what is the exercise challenge for this week?

I'm a waiting bee, so no wedding yet, but I do have a visit coming up to try to look and feel great for.  I've been trying to get into a regular exercise routine for the first time in years, and work on the healthy eating part of the equation, too.  There's definitely weight I could afford to lose and I hope that trying to be healthier will help me get rid of some of it, though I don't really have a goal number.  Y'all seem like a great group that might help me stay on track.  Can I join in?

Yay!!  I am glad this thread is back.  I am back in it.  I got married a month ago and have put back on 5 or so pounds since the wedding.  I am starting at 189.6 with a goal of getting to 164 eventually.  I lost 30 pounds pre wedding.... 25ish to go.

I will join! This is a great idea. I'm not engaged yet but I know it's coming, most likely in the spring, so I would like to slim down a bit. And by "a bit" I mean I want to lose 43 pounds. Eeeek. A 4-week challenge will help get me started, hopefully!

    Starting weight: 178

    Goal weight: 135

I was at 160 this time last year, but then I quit my waitressing job, and since I wasn't running around on my feet for 8 hours without a break, I gained weight pretty quickly. And now it's time for it to go away, because I'm tired of seeing it where it has no right to be :D

Good luck to all the participating bees!

I need to do something, hoping this will help ???

I weigh apx. 187, disgusting.  I am 5'5".  I really tried to lose weight for the wedding, and did get down to 184 from 194 so that was a start but then it creeps back up so easily.  I want to be 160 ish.  And I have high cholesterol :(  Soda is my biggest problem and the laziness of not wanting to cook.

    I am in!

Alright. I'm in on this. My FH and I just had a serious discussion on how he's managed to slim down quite a bit (wearing T-shirts and jeans that haven't fit in years after dropping 60-70 pounsd) but we're both hoping to still lose.

I'm so embarrassed of what shape i'm in, i avoided a bathing suit all summer. Yet a friend told me I look in really good shape (she's crazy.)

    Weight in: 195

    Ideal weight(long term): 165-170

Count me in, too! I've gained 16 pounds since I ordered my dress in May. Thank goodness it hasn't come in yet!

My ultimate goal is to lose 26 pounds before the wedding, but my engagement pics are on Oct. 21 so I'd like to lose at least 10 pounds by then.

My current weight is 176.4 :(

I'm in! I got married a little over 2 years ago - and have gone from 159 lbs to 196(ish) - too afraid to weigh myself these days Cry

I've been good about exercising - I actually just completed all 30 days of 30 day shred without skipping any days; it's the eating part that I struggle with! I just love salty snacks and can't seem to limit myself to a reasonable portion.

My ultimate goal is to be between 140 and 145 lbs for when my hubby and I begin TTC, but my mini-goal is to be thinner for class pictures (I'm in grad school and don't want to be remembered as a fatty - yes I am vain!) so I'd like to lose about 15 pounds by the end of November.

My current weight is 196 lbs.

    @futuremrshildebrand: DATE TWIN!

For those wondering, I just use a calculator off of this website to figure the percentage of weight lost each week..

I guess I should weigh-in too! ooops! This morning I was 188, in the past few weeks my weight has fluctuated so much, I've been as low as 185.7, so I'm really not to sure what's going on with my body. I'd really like to be 180 on my wedding date, so 8 pounds in 7 weeks!??!

I'm glad too see new faces! Welcome everyone!

We are going to use this board as the Week 1 Support Board, so be see to check in here all week!

    @natbug21: We do!

I'm going to start us off easy, but with something that I've been told can help with the dreaded back fat... PUSH-UPS!

If you're not totally sure how to do a proper push-up, check out this video!

Let's start out with 10 a day, and see how many you can do by next sunday!

I'm going to do Level 1 of the 30 Day Shred today, so that's where I will get my push-ups in!

@stbMohror: No problem, I will always try to give some type of instructional tool if it's a move that requires it!

    Good Morning Ladies!

Okay, so I didn't Shred yesterday like I said I would, but I did get a long walk in so I'm still feeling good about it. Plus I started off my morning with a 20 minute walk from my train stop into work, so that's good too!

I always have problems finding yummy and filling breakfast recipes, so here is a link to Fitness magazines best low-calorie breakfast recipes!

Am I too late to join?  I weigh 148 and would like to get down to 135-140.  And I've been saying that for about 2 years. haha.

As for eating healthy, I see my best results when I do low-carb.  I do eat some whole wheat bread or brown rice for either breakfast or lunch so I don't completely deprive myself, but I keep it to one serving a day.  I also am a pescatarian, so I don't eat meat, and I usually only eat fish on the weekends.  I eat tons of fresh vegetables and fruits and very little processed food (I do love Boca Burgers though!).  I have one cup of coffee in the morning, and I drink water the rest of the day.  On the weekend, I might have one or two glasses of wine.  My SO and I go out to eat for brunch and dinner on Saturdays, but I'm always very conscious about what I order, and for dinner, I automatically cut the meal in half and save the rest for dinner the next day.  I feel like I already eat pretty healthy, and I don't want to do anything extreme because I know that's not sustainable, so I get a little frustrated on the dieting end.

As for exercise, I'm currently on Week 6 of the C25K.  I did it once before and only got to w5d3, so I'm happy to be pushing through that.  My goal is to run a half marathon on March 4th a few cities over from where I live.  I'm also doing the 100 pushup challenge and 200 situp challenge.  I recently did one month of the Brazil Butt Lift by Beachbody, and it is such a good workout! The only problem is that it really hurt my knee.  I have lots of scar tissue under my left knee cap from when I tore my ACL, MCL, and miniscus in college, and it gets inflamed very easily.  I have to be very good about not working my knees too hard unless the inflammation keeps me from working out for a week or two.  So I don't run on back-to-back days, and I try to keep lunges and squats to a minimum, which sucks because my lower body is really where I need to tone up!  I think I can improve the frequency and consistency of my workouts though.  Some weeks I'll workout everyday and others I will only do 2, so if I could consistently do 3-4 days, I think I might see better results.

    Sorry for the novel!!

I am shedding for forever.  I would like to end up at 135 (really lower than I want so I can rebound a bit).  I am 5'8" and particularly active but I have been so busy recently that I haven't been eating well or exercising.  Wah.

Hello ladies!! Just wanted to check in and keep myself accountable :) This morning I woke up an uphill treadmill workout that I got from Oxygen magazine. I've done it before but it really killed me today.  It's pretty awesome because you get your cardio in and you are also toning your thighs and glutes at the same time :) I'll put it here in case anyone else wants to try it!  It's 25 minutes so its great if you don't have a ton of time...

    Minutes         Speed          Incline

    0-5...............3.0............1.0

    5-6...............3.0............3.0

    6-7...............3.0............5.0

    7-8...............3.0............7.0

    8-9...............3.0............9.0

    9-10.............3.0............11.0

    10-11...........3.0............13.0

    11-17...........3.0............15.0

    17-18...........3.0............10.0

    18-19...........3.0.............5.0

    19-20...........3.0.............0.0

    20-25...........2.5.............0.0

It says that if your treadmill only goes up to an incline of 10 to increase your speed each minute by 0.1 for minutes 10-17.

Also, check out oxygenmag.com for some good weight lifting workouts and healthy eating tips :)

Later today I will be either weight lifting or doing 30 day shred to get my pushups in!  Hope you all are having a healthy day :)

@natbug21:Thanks for that! I definitely want to try that out.

So I got a call from the doctor that my test results were back and that I have high cholesterol. It is really frustrating to me because I have been eating healthy (or so I thought) and exercising regularly. Since the wedding however, I have totally sucked. I don't know if it spiked because of the past month of eating and eating... and eating or if it's a combo of diet and genetics. Just wanted to throw this out there that I need to lose weight and lower my cholesterol and wanted some accountability there. I have a doctors appointment on Friday so I can get some pointers on how to fix the issue. Anyone else deal with or dealt with high cholesterol?

@jessjess: My cholestrol is on the brink of being not good, but my blood pressure is terrible. I had it control for awhile but I think it's the mix of bad eating, birth control and genetics. So it's either switch up the BC to see if that helps or start taking BP medication, which is so scarry for me. My family has a horrible history of heart problems!

Hey ladies! I heard the other day that if you eat with your non-dominant hand you tend to eat 30% less than with your dominant hand. Just because your dominant hand is so used to feeding your mouth, you just eat more out of habit! Don't know if it's true, but I thought I'd throw it out there!

@stbMohror: At this point I would totally be willing to try that out!  I am not sure how long I would last though.

@natbug21:  I tried that workout today.  I made it to about 13 minutes before I needed to lower the incline.  I also was walking faster than the 3.0 but not by much!  My buns are going to be sore in the  morning!  I want to try it again in the next day or two.  I like workouts where I can get my heart pumping without running.
