good afternoon ladies!
welcome to our first weigh-in!
I'm looking forward to sharing a positive and successful weight loss journey! (that sounds like something Allison would say on TBL, no?)
At the bottom of this post I will list all the bees that have signed up so far. if this is the first time you've read about this and want to join in, just read the rest of this post for some guidlines and then respond with your starting weight either on the board or send me a PM.
The consensus has been to allow people that want to share their starting weight and weight loss on the boards to do so. If you do not want your weight and loss on the boards please send me a PM with your starting weight and your weekly loss. I will post only your weight loss percentage!
I was hoping that each of us could take the time to share a little bit about ourselves and what we hope to accomplish through this experience! I think sharing our strengths and weakness when it comes to diet and exercise will help us to motivate each other throughout the weeks to come! If you’re comfortable sharing, please take a minute to answer the following questions!

I'll start:
Starting weight: 230
Goal weight: 145 (yep, that's 85 pounds!)
Exercise likes and dislikes: I like dancing, step classes and walking, HATE running and push-ups
Major food weaknesses: Chick-fil-A is the biggest I think! Also ice cream.
I'm trying to eat really healthy and up my exercise. I've been slacking the past few weeks, but I need to get back on track. I bought a wedding dress that is quite a bit too small for me (but I love it and it's discontinued), so my plan is to fit into it by about this time next year. Hopefully I can do it!
I wanted to share my weight on the boards as a way to keep myself in check!
i started getting serious about my weight last summer after my fiance had a heart related scare. he is overweight as well. since that july i've lost 25 pounds. i got down to 188 but then just let myself slip and now i'm back up to 197.2.
what has helped me is counting calorie intake and output. i have an app on my iphone that works like a pedometer and can tell me (roughly) how many calories i run on a walk or run. i use it everyday, even for the smallest types of walks. it helps to see that i'm burning and keeps me motivated.

my starting weight is 220.6. I've lost about 20 lbs so far since getting engaged in November using a combination of weight watchers and trying to reduce my intake of bad carbs.
my ultimate goal weight is about 150. My short term goal is to hit 200 before going dress shopping this summer!
I like walking, (I'm currently training for the Breast Cancer 3 Day if anyone would like to donate, let me know!) the elliptical, and group activities like kickboxing and zumba. I'd love to become a runner someday but I'm not sure if it's in the cards for me.

Well my starting weight a few weeks ago was 235. I am at 224.6 now.
I lost 10 pounds by doing cardio 5 to 6 times a week for 20 to 40 minutes and I eat under 1600 calories a day.
My goal weight is 150 ( 86 to go).
I LOVE my zumba! Even my daughter joins in sometimes. I also like pilates just for the relaxation. I hate running. I am huge and seriously that shit hurts my ankles.
I think my biggest weakness is fried foods. I love me some fries! But I guess all in moderation can be ok.
BTW... Mr Tranquility is also doing this! I am so proud of him. He has lost 7 pounds!!!!

OOoooooo I wanna play. I am NOT shy and I need the inspiration/motivation!!! Although, trying on my dress yesterday gave me extra inspiration... there was back fat.
So I am officially on a diet from now until the wedding, and I'm starting couch 2 5K today!!! It's a 9 week program and I have 11 weeks until the wedding... perfect!
Starting weight: 173 pounds
Goal: Hopefully 165? I have two months. We will see.
Favorite form of exercise: The kind where I don't know I'm doing it. Sports, hiking, swimming.
Least favorite type of exercise: The efficient kind. Running, in particular.
Weaknesses: Sugar and pizza. And I'm about to go to a meeting where they have both, free! Boo! wish me luck... I'll be visuallizing my back fat!!!!

Starting weight: 10 stone 1 pound, that's like 141 pounds isn't it?
Like to be: 9 stone (or thereabouts), approx 126 pounds.
I have been working like a horse the past few weeks, so too tired for me wii fit, and almost all food is my weakness. H2B is a chef, I was a lot slimmer before we met! lol
I started trying to lose weight last year. My starting weight was 145. I just have a small amount left I'd like to lose, but still think it would be fun to play! The things I have already done to lose weight... hmmm... I gave up pop! I was really big into pepsi. Drank it every day. Now I never drink it. I also tried to slow down my fast food consumption, since that's my biggest weakness..but It hasn't worked out so well. So yea, pretty much just giving up pop helped me knock 15 lbs.

what are your favorite and least favorite forms of exercise?
I love sports... ringette, hockey, field hockey... but hate pretty much everything else. I like the idea of running, and was once a great runner, but lately have lost all motivation when I get out there.
what is your major weakness when it comes to food? chocolate, grease?
I love fast food! If I'm in a cranky mood, all FI needs to do to calm me down is to buy me a cheeseburger or a big mac. sad, but true.

I could walk for hours, but pretty much hate all other forms of exercise.
Well ladies here goes......
My starting weight is 196. I have have been engaged for almost 3 years I bought my dress right after my engagement now it doesn't fit : ( My goal weight is 165.
I have recently started working out cardio mostly 1 hr 5x a week. My favorite exercise is the elliptical. I will try to start Zumba this week
Major food weakness was soda I stopped cold turkey 3 weeks ago only water ( at least 5 bottles a day) for me.
I will give this my best shot as my fitting is in 3 months!

Starting weight is 184
160 or 155 - I used to be very active in college/grad school, although I've always struggled with weight. Then I had a very stressful summer at work last year and lapsed into all sorts of bad habits. So I got myself to the gym in the fall and feel much better, but am still working on eating better.
I love the elliptical, running and hot yoga. I don't like lifting weights but do anyway and I detest lunges - yuck.

I reached my heaviest around the time of my wedding at 197 pounds. We came back from our honeymoon and I decided that I was going to take 2011 seriously and be a healthier person. December 31st I started my last period and so I've technically "been pregnant" the whole time I've been losing weight. I'm now down to 154.4 pounds and hope to make it to 130 as my goal.
Like I stated previously, I am under constant monitoring by my endocrinologist for my weight loss as well as my pre-cancerous thyroid condition every 3-4 weeks throughout my pregnancy. I can't guarantee I'll be able to keep up the weight loss but I think it's better to bring a kind into the world being healthy rather than being overweight. As long as my doctor tells me it's safe I'm going to continue.
I feel my pregnancy (which flipped my thryoid from hypo to hyper) has really helped me lose the weight. I've started eating much healthier and cut out soda and stuff. I've also upped my exercise. I've noticed I feel so amazing after workouts. No matter how "bleh" or tired I felt before. Exercising in the morning is also the best thing for me I think. :)

I am only 5 foot 3, 10 stone on me is quite a lot, only small framed. I need foods that give me plenty of protein and energy because i am hypoglycaemic, i get faint and ratty as hell when i am hungry. Help me girls, give me some tips. I bought some slimming pills off the internet, forget what they're called, but they don't work. Its hard work and less fatty food I need, but with plenty of energy. I also drink. Vodka and diet coke is my achilles heel. I don't think you can drink anything with less calories though.

First step is to go back to my pre-moving to the US weight (150) but I want to get down to my dream weight: 140
I don't like exercise. At all. I love walking though, and I just bought the Zumba game for Wii, so that's exciting.
Any food, really. I LOVE eating! Unfortunately...

Goal Weight: Short Term- 150 by August, Long term- 135
Favorite Exercises: I honestly love them all (except for tire flipping!! Boo!!). Working out is not my problem, its the food.
Food Weakness: I love carbs. Love them. I do ok during the day while I am at work, but I fail miserably when I get home. Instant rice is just so easy to whip up.
okay here we go! i have already lost 51 lbs so this will keep me motivated for the rest!!!
@Jen4414: me too! I carry all of my weight around my stomach, so i totally look about 7 months pregnant!

what is your starting weight?- My starting weight is 138.6. I'm down from 145 a couple of weeks ago when I started South Beach. The weight loss has stalled a bit so hopefully this will keep me accountable.
what is your goal weight?- 118. It's where I felt I looked best and felt best before I gained weight in grad school. I'm 5'3" and was always petite pgrowing up.
what are your favorite and least favorite forms of exercise?- Hmmm- I love any sort of class that gets me moving and doesn't feel like exercise (I got used to this in school for acting and it's my favorite way to be active.) I hate running since I am an asthmatic with a bad knee and ankle. I started Turbo Fire this morning and while I was kind of lost I liked the energy and structure.
what is your major weakness when it comes to food? chocolate, grease?- Salty things, like chips and salsa or popcorn as well as wine.
I have 5 months until the wedding and want to feel like I'm in the right body when I go down the aisle.
@mittens111211: Yeah I carry it pretty much everywhere, the only advantage i have is that i'm really tall so there is more room to spread out the fat haha so i usually look thinner than i am which is good but lately since I have gained so much my height is no longer making up for it lol

@mittens111211: Whats the name of the pedometer app? I was going to get one but if the iPhone works as one, all the better!
I use the Nike + GPS app. It's not an actual pedometer, I guess I should clarify. It uses the GPS to track how far you've moved. I don't know how it works when you use it on the treadmill.
But, I think it works pretty well, i used it on the treadmill one day (that also keeps a calorie count) and they were about 15 calories apart. I still take 10% off just in case.

Favorite exercise: P90x program at the moment
Least favorite exercise: Running - I want to run a half marathon at the end of the year, but I've struggled with running lately
Major weakness: ICE CREAM! I love it!
I know I don't have a lot to lose. I've already lost 17 pounds, so I'm almost halfway there. It's been a struggle trying to keep it up though. Hopefully this program will help me stay on track!
I use http://caloriecount.about.com/ to help keep track of my calories. Plus I love watching the line on my weightloss continue to go down towards my goal weight. That part makes me happy!
