Has anyone seen it? Is it good? Is it a "guy" movie? I'm debating getting it for my Fiance's birthday. He likes "guy" movies... war, action, football, etc...

The last time I rented a movie for him, it didn't go so well! The cover had a football player and a bulldog on the front so I figured it was a guy movie...turned out it wasnt and he hated it :-)

I loved it, but its so not a guy movie.  Football is secondary to the story.  Its a really sweet, touching story.  Its a movie he might like to watch with you, but no one that he'd necessarily want in his collection.

Yeah.  The Blind Side is sort of the chick flick version of a football version and it's more about the emotional drama than the sport - he might enjoy watching it once, but I wouldn't buy it for him.

It is so weird that you posted this because I am watching blind side RIGHT now. I watched it last night for the first time with my fiance' and he really enjoyed it but I agree with the others, it isn't a "guy" movie. It is a really good drama and sports film, based on the true story of Michael Oher and the Tuohy Family. I think you should consider renting it/watching it on demand with your man first to see if it is his type of movie :)

I love it though...I tear up every few scenes ;) but I'm a sports movie junkie and cry at just about any movie ;)

Me and the DH went to see it.  He was mainly going to see it because of me but after the movie he said he really like it.  He said it wasn't what he expected it to be.

Like others have said, I don't know if I would buy it for him.  I would rent the movie and see it together.

I think hotinthecity made a good suggestion with The Hurt locker.  DH and I saw it.  I like it but I would not see it again because it's a bit violent for me.  But overall good story.  The Hurt locker is about a guy in the marines or army (i can't remember which one) but the story follows this guy as he disarms bombs... huge bombs.

I agree with the others that it is a great movie but it is drama based. My hubby liked it a lot but that's because he loves drama movies in addition to manly movies. If you are trying to purchase a manly movie, this one isn't it.

@Sunshine - Law Abiding Citizen was a great film. I think he would like that film a lot.
