Ok the boards re-org is live!
We first posted about the redesign here and got some great feedback from the hive... so we took some time to incorporate it all before going live with it.
A quick summary of the changes:
All that said, the boards shouldn't look all that different. They still work basically the same: the frontpage shows every single post, and to look at a particular board... you just click on the board. The real change is that if you don't see the boards at the top, first click on either Wedding Related or NWR to see a complete list!
We'll try this out for a little bit... and if you guys have feedback, we'll tweak the interface to adjust. I'd like to give it a few days for everyone to get used to it... if it doesn't feel right after the weekend, we can definitely reassess!
We're still dealing with a few last minute tweaks:
I'm LOVING IT!!! It's been live for about 20 minutes-ish I think??? It's very very very easy to navigate for me and is way friendlier on the eyes!
I love the layout and the new tabs. It's sooo much easier to navigate (not that it was bad before...but just much easier now!)
HM....I didn't even know there was going to be a reorganization...It caught me off guard. Give me a few days to learn how to navigate it and then I'll give you my vote. :)
At least I didn't say "I hate it!! Go back!" I'm willing to give it a shot!
I voted Iz Ok (hehe) but only because it will take me a bit to get used to it. I think it is great as far as the layout and organization goes. I also think it will allow for more WB growth! :)

omg, I love it!!! It's awesome. I love how the locals & month twins are ogranize especially, SO much easier!!! Great Job!
i'm kind of indifferent now. i kinda liked when i clicked on "Boards" and everything was just at my fingertips and now i have to hunt for stuff... i don't even know what NWR means!!! hehe.
It's alright. I was a little confused when I went down a bee-level, but I'm sure it will be back in no time!
I noticed it this morning! It's a lot easier to navigate. Love it! Love it! Love it!!! :)

Do most people know what "nwr" means? That's the only part I'd think would be confusing, to new users.
If you click "nwr" you see the board is called "Not Wedding Related". Do you think that helps enough?

good job! I like the new set up a lot better... and I like some of the new boards (20/30/40 etc) and being able to easily find them.
heads up that Connecticut is spelt wrong on the local board- "Connecticutt"
Ok Mr. Bee, I normally don't have such strong opinions about format {most of the time} but the new re-organization is BEE-U-TI-FUL!!! I absolutely love it, it's so much easier [read faster] to navigate around the boards. I give this re-organization 2 thumbs up and 5 stars!
Okay I'm wondering if I'm missing something a little bit... a lot of people have said that this is a lot EASIER to navigate? I understand that the separate tabs were necessary and I'm working on getting used to this... but how is having everything all split up easier than having everything together in one place? Maybe I'm not really using it correctly or something...? Just seems like it takes 2-4 clicks to get where I used to be able to get in 1.

I see we've made the change! Crazy! Ok, not really. I think I will adjust in a few days. Thanks for working so hard Mr. Bee. What would we do without you.
I particularly like how much easier it is to find the "month twins" section. Before it was the drop down menu, that was hard to get to some of the later months without trying to scroll down the page and keep the drop down open.
It feels a little disjointed but I think we mostly need to figure out where to find everything again, and then we'll be fine with it.
I love it! Especially now that you took all our suggestions into account and tweaked it! Way to go, Mr. Bee!
Love it! Its so much easier to use on my blackberry now. Before it took forever to scroll through the menus to get to a thread, now I just have to scroll a couple times and I'm there.
Ok...I don't want to be a pain, but I really still think there should be some sort of drop down menus, because while I like the clean look, it is taking me forever to find what different boards have been categorized as. Even if there were only drop downs on the screens after you click on one of the 5 main categories, that would be helpful. I know this site well and I am having a hard time finding what I am looking for based on the categorization, I can only imagine it must be even harder with those who are less familiar. Let me make clear, I love love love WB and your constant efforts to improve it, but this is the first time I have been repeatedly frustrated by an aspect of the website.
When this thread was first posted, I didn't notice a difference, but I do now. I find myself always clicking the "wedding related" tab everytime I want to search the boards because I want to see the old tabs with the categories.
Is it possible to have all the non-wedding related stuff automatically put into a different section so the old way is default? It is a wedding site afterall and all the links really made things much easier to be on the default boards page.
