I used the tea tree toner briefly and it worked well as a toner, but I still used a benzoyl peroxide treatment while using it. I don't think it will replace your treatment, but it will help. Then again, you might have milder acne and/or better results than me!!
I use the foaming face wash, and the matte gel and it works great! I really like it. For toner, I use Witch Hazel with aloe vera and rose water
Does it smell? I purchased some tee tree oil to add to a homemade bathroom scrub and couldn't stand the way it smelled. I couldn't imagine putting it on my face, but that was the pure stuff, so a cleanser is probably formulated to not be as strong.
Other than that, the march of dimes website says that using a topical benzoyl peroxide solution of 2.5% is safe during pregnancy. Very little of a topical solution would be absorbed into the skin. My doctor said that the 2% salicyclic acid toner I was using was perfectly fine to continue. Everyone has their own comfort level though.
I use the whole line of Body Shop Tea Tree Oil products, and I love them. The toner is great...as a toner. It won't work on its own to combat acne. But it will help. I love the Blemish-Clearing lotion, the foaming cleanser, the mask, and the toner. I think there's a sale on right now (or, there is in Canada) where you can buy three products from the same line on discount.
@redsmarties: thanks! I actually ordered the toner and the lotion- hoping to work them into my routine and if I like them, purchasing the cleanser too!
@coachwife: I can't comment on tea tree oil as an acne treatment but I am currently testing it in the lab to determine it's antibacterial properties (or not). There have been a few studies mentioning the possibility of tea tree oil being an endocrine disruptor. But that's another story...
so far so good with the tea tree toner and the lotion! i havent fully incorporated it in place of the benzoly peroxide but use it at night instead of the bp (still use bp in the mornings)! i love how fresh it smells!

Anyone have a good experience with this toner? I never struggled with Acne until I turned 22 and then my skin went crazy with adult acne. After about a year of searching for a solution I stumbled on acne.org and tried their 2.5% benzoyl peroxide treatment. It has kept my skin clear and I never get zits anymore!
My hubs and I are NTNT and I have been wanting to switch to something more natural for a while. I read the tea tree oil has the same anti bacterial benefits of benzoyl peroxide, and read great reviews about the toner so I ordered it and am going to try to ease it into my routine, and hopefully replace the bp completely, eventually!
