I think I understand where you’re coming from.  But I don’t think you’re in bad shape.  Could you put some embellishments on your MOH gown?  Something sparkly?  Could you do something with the sash?  Make it a different color?  Or add embellishments there?  Or maybe leave the dress, and focus on other things, like something special for her hair.  (big flower, or hair jewels or hair vine).

THE DRESSES ARE VERY PRETTY- I LOVE THE SILHOUETTES OF BOTH, BUT I SEE WHAT YOU MEAN THAT THE MOHS IS A  BIT SIMPLER WITH LESS ROUCHING ACROSS THE FRONT.

YOU COULD TRY DOING A RHINESTONE BROOCH AT THE CENTER OF THE BUST- IT WOULD ADD THAT RIGHT AMOUNT OF GLAM WITHOUT OVERDOING IT WITH YOUR DRESS

Ohhh both are gorgeous 🙂 I would add a rhinstone pin to the MOH dress at the hip where the rouching meets the rest of the dress. Is her bouquet the same as the maids? Because it’s a little bigger/more fancy that’ll make a difference too 🙂

agreed with the brooch. I think it should go on the hip where the bow is though. A nice, kind of large sparkly one, maybe 3" in diameter. And you could put a gorgeous pin on her bouquet too

Hmm I guess I’m in the minority on this one, but personally, I prefer the MOH dress to the BM and think its more interesting. Strapless dresses are so similar, I think the halter is quite nice! i would suggest adding some sort of flower to the side (I’m not a big fan of rhinestone). Does your MOH have any ideas?

I agree a diamond shaped sparkly rhinestone brooch in the V neck would look nice or a contrasting colored sash (pink? lavender? silver?))so she can stand out or make her bouquet larger

I think the dresses are a nice compliment to each other, but I agree, a special something for your MOH would make her stand out.  A broach, a different kind of bouquet, a sash….

Nice picks!!

Wow those BM dresses are very nice! I really wish I went with something like that (sigh…I dont like my BM/MOH’s dresses)

I think something sparkly, like everyone has been saying – a brooch would look very nice. I think you could also use more jewellery on her – making sure not to out bling you, but maybe her having different jewellery than the BM’s?

make sure she’s into sparkly things before you get her all sequined up – maybe treat her to hair or makeup or something special that will make her glow, rather than try to pin things to her.

I like the brooch on the hip idea, but i dont think its absolutely necessary.  The dresses arent that mismatched, in all reality, I dont think it would ever cross anyone elses mind. Talk to your MOH adn see what she wants. If she wants to stay sleek and simple, then you are already done. If she likes the idea of going a bit blingy, go for it!

what kind of jewlery are the BMs wearing? the brooch idea is interesting however i don’t think a brooch right in the middle of the V is appropriate, all eyes would go straight to that point. i also don’t like the brooch on the hip, there’s already the sash knot (which is interesting & beautiful). i agree with mdarrah, the moh’s dress seems as though it’s supposed to be sleek & simple, almost calming in a way (if the moh looks calm, the bride is, that kind of thing).

if ya want to dress her up, i’m with Melissabegins: up her hair & makeup be more than the BMs but not as much as yours (obviously). there are some sparkly powders that you brush onto your skin, maybe the makeup artist (or you guys can just go to the local drugstore) and have brush some of it on, just a tiny bit of glitter.

I also believe she should wear pink or ivory or black pearls with her dress. that’s what my BMs & MOH are getting as a gift, a 2 string ivory/pink pearl bracelet.

GL. oh & BTW: the dresses are gorgeous. I was looking at the same ones!

My BMs have ALL brown dresses w/ a brown sash…the MOHs have brown with an orange sash and i bought them a brooch to go on it – the same brooch i have for my mom and my FMIL, and 1 is going on the front of the sash on MY dress, and the BACK of MY dress at the “v” in the back….so it kinda incorporates all that =)

i also had ALL their jewelry custom made. soo my MOHs have a few more pearls on their lariat necklace than the others and a ring. (i got my BMs earrings and a necklace, but my MOHs earrings, necklace and a pearl ring.)

so that’s how i’m setting them apart =)

i think they both look great…don’t see a need to change it at all!
