@Kissed_by_lightning:  I would love to see pictures of this. Tell him that you are starting to love the cupcake dresses.

If you value his dress opinion that much tell him you feel gorgeous in the dress so that he warms up to it. I think that you should feel beautiful on your wedding day. You can put on something he would like later that night *wink* wink*

My DH also wanted me to wear something fitted (he also said simple). My ballgown gave me the princess dress I wanted but it was fitted at the top which is what he wanted and had a blingy belt (I love the sparkle!). It was a great compromise though I wasn’t looking for one! He will love you in no matter what you wear.

@Kissed_by_lightning:  My ballgown was kinda hard to dance and let loose in. Maybe a nice ballgown in a lighter fabric like chiffon, organza or lace? I had on a satin ballgown and with all the undergarments undearneath, it got pretty heavy.

This is what happened to me. I swore up and down I wanted a lace dress or a mermaid but then when I tried them on it didn’t do anything for me and I was unimpressed. I am getting a ballgown. Get what YOU want. No one else is going to wear that dress. He might not like it on the picture but once he sees you in it, I’m certain he will love it.

My other half wanted a cupcake dress and I wanted a mermaid. He likes simple, I like crazy and over the top drama.

I took him dress shopping and I took his ideas into consideration, but when I found the dress even though its not his style he loved how I glowed in the dress.

The dress isnt a true mermaid, more like a trumpet so by accident we actually compremised.

I looked for a dress that made me happy and had 1 or 2 things I knew FI would like. I looked poorly gowns, bit I found one fitted on top. He doesnt like lace, so I made sure to find a dress with little/no lace on it. Compromise! And really, he’s just going to be excited you’re walking down the aisle towards him…you could wear a velour jogging suit!

I had a similar concern with my SO because he always said he wanted me to wear a cocktail-length dress, and I bought a floor-length gown.

BUT not too long ago, he told me that on the day of, he won’t care what I’m wearing because he thinks I look the most beautiful when I’m happy and comfortable.
