What are you guys planning on doing the day after your wedding? Will you be leaving for your honeymoon, relaxing at home, already on your honeymoon?

Originally, we thought we'd stay at our own house the night of the wedding and have a lazy day to ourselves. In actuality, I'm going to be a bridesmaid for a dear friend of mine.

Really? OMG, I would be too tired to be a good BM.

The day after, we're having brunch, playing croquet and sitting on the beach with our guests.

I'll be off somewhere recuuperating with a rum drink in hand with cute umbrella in the drink.  Somewhere with a white sand beach and a view!  With T of course!

If we can plan to leave right away for our honeymoon, the day after will be me, Mr HW, a Captain & Coke in his hand, a Pina Colada in mine, on a beach....somewhere....anywhere.... :)

We opened gifts, packed, went to the bookstore and Target (stocked up on sunscreen and good books basically), came home and crashed! Then packed. It was a super late night for us. We left Monday morning. Whew

sleeping in!!! lol!!! maybe having a very quiet and romantic brunch just the two of us and then later in the afternoon visiting with my family for perhaps a late evening bbq lol... i guess it depends on where i get married, we will probably choose a destination type wedding for guests and if we do that we'll probably have some type of going away party for the guests and then later in the evening leave for our honeymoon some place on a BEACH.

Hmm, I wonder about this. I am not a "go, go, go" person, so I think I want to wait to leave for the honeymoon til the next day. Ideally, I'd love to spend the day holed up in our luxurious hotel room, talking about how wonderful the wedding day was and adding up our loot, haha! But the tricky thing about that is then all those pesky family members will want to spend time with us! Wink We are having a brunch reception, so no day after brunch for us. I think to make sure the day is to ourselves, we'll probably end up leaving for our honeymoon sometime in the mid-day. Since its a USA honeymoon, our flight won't be super long.

We had to clean up the wedding site.  Many of our guests enjoyed the day down by the river... but my feet hurt too bad from hiking in Fluevogs to go down there, so I cleaned up the wedding site and socialized with remaining guests.  It was a nice (but too hot) day!  We left for our honeymoon the next day.

We are staying our wedding night at the Ritz, so we're hoping to enjoy it for a while the next day! But then we are coming home, packing for our honeymoon, opening some presents, and decompressing. We leave bright and early Monday morning for St Thomas!

We are going to my fiance's brothers football game (this game was scheduled for our wedding day, we are getting married on a friday, but thank God they were able to reschedule it to Saturday afternoon)!!!!  Pretty funny because only a football game (which is #1 of importance in this small Colorado town) in a small town could be reschedule because one of their most important players (my future brother-in-law) can't be there!!

Then we will come home and pack and I will probably clean and vacuum because I am type A and I hate coming home to a dirty house!

The only time a flight leaves for the Dominican Republic out of Denver is at 1:15AM!!!!!  So while most of you bees will be sleeping I will be sleeping on a plane hopefully. But it will be all worth it once I have my tootsies in the sand and a beer in my hand life will be good.

We're going to have a brunch/lunch. Nothing too big hopefully, but something to bring the immediate families together again.

We are having brunch at the hotel (reception site) with our OOT guests before they leave. Then we will most likely come back to my parents house, open our gifts, relax, finish packing, and spend time with the two sets of parents at my parents house. We leave at like 7am on Monday morning for St. Lucia!

We were so tired! We slept in really late in our honeymoon suite, then packed up the car, and went home. Some friends came over much later and we all just chilled. Then we went to sleep early! :)

We'll pretty much be in the car all day. :( I wanted to start our road-trip honeymoon by making the 3-1/2 hour drive to the stop closest to us and save the long drive home for the last day so that we could start the day late and lazy-like, but FI insisted we get the 8-hour driving leg over with the first day. I HATE being a passenger in a car for long rides, and FI hates letting anyone else drive... it is going to be a real test of our marriage, that first day after the wedding. ;)

We're probably going to spend the day after our wedding with our families and out of town guests.  There will most likely be a light brunch at my parents' house so everyone can come and go as they like.  And hopefully plenty of mimosas!!!  Laughing

Our wedding is a Saturday evening.  On Sunday, we're having a day after brunch at our resort.  Then we'll be traveling 2 hours back home to our families, probably recouping for the afternoon there and opening some gifts before traveling the extra our to our home that evening.  We leave for our honeymoon Monday morning.

I think we are going to plan to spend the day after visiting with family and friends and then leave on Monday for the honeymoon. Flights will have a lot to do with our decision but we want to take advantage of the time we will have with OOT guests, just not too early in the morning, lunch maybe.

I think the day or two after will be our re-cooping time. I believe my parents will hold a little cook-out for the OOT guests and I am just going to relax. As of now, we are not going on a honeymoon so we will just hangout and relax.

@happilywaiting, no it was not a laid back day at all! Not sure how opening gifts, getting food, buying books and sunscreen is supposed to take all day, but somehow it was a very long day for us. I ended up packing the wrong swimsuit bottom in my rush.

I didn't relax until we got on our plane. Then I crashed on his shoulder. Maybe I left a little drool there Innocent

We'll be getting up WAY too early on the day after the wedding for the 9am day-after brunch.  I'm guessing that after the brunch we will go to my parents house for a while to spend some time with our guests that are coming from Ireland then drive home that evening.

Our wedding is Saturday and we leave for the honeymoon on Tuesday morning so Monday will be our crazy packing day.
