HELP!!!!! The wedding is in 29 days, and the dress doesn’t fit!
I was never one of those girls that was determined to lose weight just for my wedding, but now I have no choice, and only 29 days to do it.
I had dress regret and purchased a new dress online, and received it yesterday. I was so excited. I even ordered it a size bigger than every other dress in my closet…. and it doesn’t zip all the way!
My last resort option is to see if a corset back can be added, however I am trying at all extremes to avoid that. FI and I are funding the entire shin-dig and funds are tight.
I know there have been a million of these posts, but I was hoping maybe someone had some new ideas.
I got the diet thing down, low-to-no carbs, protein, no cheese, tons and tons of water. I’m starting back on my daily elliptical regime (33 minutes, varying resistance program) What else can I do? Honestly, I’m just looking for a quick fix (yes, I know it’s not healthy, but neither is the stress of not fitting into your dream dress)
Any advice is GREATLY appreciated!!!!

@burger26: How far away from zipping is it? An inch? If the photo posted is your dress, I wouldn’t go the corset-back route. I’d get some good shapewear, give it a week or two of watching your diet/exersize, and if it still doesn’t fit, take it to a tailor to have it let out a touch.
If it’s way off, I guess I’d suggest ordering the next size up? Good luck!

@FutureCuomo6610: It’s less than 2 inches from zipping. I thought about shapewear, but wasn’t sure it would help enough. I’m just a natural worrier, and always expect the worst. Hardcore diet and exercise is certainly my new life for the next 29 days 🙂 (and yes, that is my dress)

make sure to include some strength training, and good fats (avocado, olive oil, coconut oil).

Check the insides of the side seams of the dress. Often with bridal attire (wedding gowns, bridesmaid dressers, MOB dresses) there is 1-3 inches that can be let out.

@burger26: Two inches in 29 days might be tough. Can you exchange it for a size up? If so, do that. Don’t get hung up on the number, just go by what fits. Sorry you’re stressing, but you’ll figure it out!

How about fasting? It’s not healthy but it’s the quickest way to drop some water weight.

@burger26: If its less than 2 inches from zipping, its probably your chest, not your weight. Theres not much you can do about that except getting it let out.

Can you bring it to a seamstress and see if they can take it out a bit? Normally they can let it out 1 dress size. It’s worth a shot!

you can do it , in 29 days, that’s like 4 weeks right? So lose 2lbs a week (the healthy way ) and you should be fine. It will take cutting calories and exercising daily but u can do it! Drink only water for your beverages! and stay hydrated! You can do it! Don’t give up, just take it One. Day. At a Time. 🙂

Add weights into your routine!

When I was trying on dresses the lady told me to hold my boobs up and out of the way. Sounds weird but it makes a huge difference, and get someone strong to help.

You have 4 weeks, right? You can healthfully lose up to 2lbs a week.
So that’s almost 10lbs! I would pick a calorie counting app (I like Livestrong, but everyone ese likes something else)
And I don’t know about you, but my thighs get GIGANTIC if I do resistance. So I would do low resistance for a longer period of time! (Like 45 mins)

@burger26: Yes- as PP poster said- there is usually hidden fabric in the seems (usually near the back zipper) thay can bing the dress OUT approx another inch in most cases. If it’s 2 inches away from zipping- to be on the safe side, I’d have the corset put in, even though I know you said you didn’t want to because of $$. But seriously- as much as it sounds possible to loose weight and all, do you really want that pressure the month before your wedding?
If it’s as simple as adding a corset without a lot of other alterations, you shuld be able to get away with that for about $100-

Shapewear adds bulk, it’s another layer of super thick fabric. I wouldn’t go that route. Can you order next size up and get it in time? If not, i’d just get it let out. No use killing yourself with a crash diet – you’ll be miserable, and fashion isn’t worth that. 2 inches is a lot to lose in such a short time!!
