I posted this on another websites forum so if you are also there, I apologize for the repeat ^_^
So OK…I am still in the process of losing weight and want to order a dress in January for my September 2015 wedding.
This long engagement we have going on gives me lots of time to think… and the other day (after looking through old Facebook pictures) about a dress I was in love with back in 2008 when I was in a serious relationship with someone else.
I never ordered it. I never even tried it on. I was wondering if it even still existed. So after some research, I found it.
I still love it. I think it is funky and fun and they apparently STILL MAKE IT!
Would you consider ordering it? Is that in poor taste?

PunkRockPrincess: I don’t think there is any problem with that! If it was a dress u already owned from a “failed” engagement or something, I might feel weird about that just because it is something that was purchased for a wedding to someone else/I’m slightly superstitious lol. But u never even purchased it or anything and it was a dress u admired 🙂 I’d u love it, I say go for it!! You might even try it on and decide it isn’t for you. I know there were dresses I LOVED in pic a but hated on me, so u never know. I wouldn’t worry about it 🙂
Congrats btw! <3

kortizi0: Thank you very much! You are right about dresses in pictures vs. in person. I have seen a few in person after admiring them online and been very unhappy. haha So we shall see if I can even see a version of this dress in person. I might travel to the flagship store in another state =)

Not weird at all! I want to see a pic of it!

I had a dream dress too before I met dh and was involved with someone else. When we got engaged I tracked that dress down and rocked it down the aisle. It was MY dress not the relationship’s dress.

nope you didn’t buy it when you were with someone else i so i don’t think its weird at all. as long as you don’t think about your past relationship when you do try it on

No! Not weird at all. Sounds like the dress has everything to do with what you like in fashion, and absolutely nothing to do with your ex or a past relationship.
