Hello,
I am a 26 year old male and have been lurking and reading rings posts for months now...I have been shopping for my girlfriends ring for around 4 months now with only the suggestion from her that she likes "squarish round halos and sparkly rings".
With this info and ENDLESS searching and research I broke down and purchased a very nice Tacori halo setting and a 1.064 AGS 000 round brilliant. Her ring size is a 5.75 and the pictures show the ring with the diamond i selected sitting in it on my pinky.
I couldn't be more excited as she has NO idea that i have even begun to shop, let alone have the diamond being set right now! I feel that the quality and everything about the ring is going to be more than she ever dreamed for. I couldn't be more excited and am planning to propose in around a month!
I thought about a moissy, especially after reading so much about them on the boards here...i feel like for her the diamond choice is not based on logic..more of a built in desire from childhood...but in the end i know she has always dreamed of a diamond engagement ring and what she wants is what she gets! When she's happy i'm happy!

@Toyota4: excellente choice, looks like you chose a round center stone with a cushion halo...that's what I have! I think you are giving her the best of both worlds, the fire and brillance of a round stone and the softness and "squaring" of the cushion halo!

Thanks SOOO much everybody! I am VERY happy with the ring, i was super nervous that i didn't make the right choice but after seeing it in person today it totally sealed the deal for me!
Obviously she means the world to me...and even though she is not materialistic at all (this will be the first diamond of ANY size she has ever owned) I knew how badly she wanted a nice sparkly diamond engagement ring and I really had a good time shopping for her dream ring.
I could not be more excited to give it to her, but i want to make sure i do it at exactly the right time...I will get the ring for good this Thursday and i KNOW it will be totally burning a hole in my pocket...No idea how i am gonna wait to our getaway mid January!
I went into this e ring shopping thing by myself with what i considered a pretty high budget, but of course after research and seeing all my options I ended up digging into the savings and doubling my budget...what are you gonna do? I know this is VERY important to her, and seeing the ring and getting everyone on wedding bees approval really makes me happy with my decision!

That is a GREAT ring, she is going to be so thrilled! I don't know many girls who don't love Tacori.
