Weddingbee boards

I have to get this off my chest, and will try to do so politely since I promised to not post snarky or offensive things as a Vendor.  I'm just going to point out some facts and hope that the Smart Bees out there think before they shop for the most important day in their lives.  I'm going to try and say this without being overly political or point fingers.  It doesn't matter if your entire Wedding budget is $1000. or $1,000,000. it's what you do with it.

The US used to be famous for the quality of the goods we produced, then outsourcing became the thing to do and now things are made overseas in factories that we financially support and worker conditions are not subject to our laws.  The products they produce are clearly going down in quality, and we're becoming increasingly dependent on them.  Entire cities and regions of the US are full of unemployed people who have few options for work and former factories are being turned into Luxury Condos that few can afford to buy anymore.  What's the unemployment rate today? 

How you spend your hard earned budget in times like these is important, and supporting Local Businesses should be a priority for all of us right now!  Buy from an independent struggling Designer in your area, and look at the handmade (unique and really well priced) goods on www.etsy.com before laying down your credit card for that $199. Chinese 'custom' gown or going to that website with the flash banner advertising for your accessories.  Consider Bartering with your Vendors!  How you spend your money has a domino effect on others and speaks volumes about the spender... please be a Thoughtful Bee so we can ALL live happily ever after!  :)
