I'm not married yet, but from a guest perspective, if I knew that you were moving and settling in a new city and getting settled, I would probably be forgiving :) Congrads on getting the tedious work done!
@takemyhand: I just feel bad because I was so good at sending them when the gifts came in before the wedding. Those were written and sent within a week of receiving the gifts.
Then I sent one round out in October when we went back to NYC to pick up our cat.
And the final round will now be sent from the UK in January. At least they'll get a cool UK postmark and stamp for their patience!
@KatNYC2011: Omg, I'm so glad you wrote this. I'm going to finish mine this weekend, and then I'll finally be done!
@jo.lee: For the past few weeks I've felt like it was impossible and I'd never get them done. But then, I just put my mind to it and in 2 hours this morning, I wrote the last 19. It feels SO good to have them done! Now I just have to bite the bullet and send them. It'll probably cost upwards of 1 pount ($1.50) each, but what are you going to do?
I think we finished ours 3 months after the wedding, but he helped -- he wrote the notes to family & friends on his side.
congratulations for wrapping up your wedding chores! feels good, don't it?
we got married november 5..we put them in the mail december 5. I wanted to get them over with, as I HATE writing them!
ETA: We had 270 people at our wedding, which made me dread it even more!
We are doing photo cards, so we had to wait until we got our wedding pics back to do the thank yous. We should have the photos next week, then we need to order the cards and write them out, so I am guessing it will take us around 3 months from the wedding date?
@janie-janie: It felt SO good to drop them all in the post office box on Monday.
I even got cute UK Rold Dahl Matilda stamps.
DH has 3 to write, and I have NO idea when those will get done. If I'd had him do 1/2 they would have never gotten done.
@Gabrielle123: The first few months after the wedding were so hectic with moving over-seas, etc that time jsut got away from me.
We just got one from someone over 6 months after their wedding! I think people appreciate the gesture, no matter what the time frame.
Congratulations on being done! It really is the best feeling to have something so time-consuming out of the way.

54 notes done... 3 to go.
And those 3 will be written by my DH.
I feel bad since my wedding was almost 4 months ago and we long ago deposited the checks we got, but between moving to London and getting settled in I've just not had the time.
Doesn't quite seem fair that I had to write 54 and DH is only writing 3, but I guess since he's working that is fair.
How long did it take you to write all your thank you notes?
