Our church book club is reading this right now. I just started it last night, and read through almost half of it in one sitting. It’s really engaging and well-written. I’m curious if anyone else has read this?
If you haven’t, brief overview:
Author’s mother is dying of cancer, and he goes with her to her chemo appointments. During these appointments, they chat about the books they are reading/have read (both big readers). They end up forming a bit of a “book club” between themselves. There is a lot of discussion of life, choices, death (obviously) as the author’s mother becomes more and more unwell.
I’m already loving this book, even though it is a bit sad. I love how the books they discuss often parallel the mother’s situation, or the son’s perspective.
