I said I would still drink like normal since you can’t hurt the baby when it’s not even implanted yet. But when it came time for it I couldn’t bring myself to drink at all. I only had 1 TWW before I got pregnant though, so I may have felt different a few months in.

bestbuddies:  maybe I’m not in the running for mother of year here but I take the TWW as my last opportunity to do all the things that are “no-no” during pregnancy. Like PP said, you don’t share a blood supply with baby yet so you can’t harm it.  So I enjoy wine with dinner, rare steaks, etc 🙂 I’m a healthy eater all the time though so I stick to my usual diet for the most part.

Going into cycle 9 of trying here… so now I don’t do anything differently.

bestbuddies:  I’m TTC for a year so have changed eating habits anyway. I don’t give up anything during TWW but don’t plan to get very drunk either.

I wouldn’t do anything differently.  Unless you have medical issues or your Dr. has advised specific things due to fertility issues, I wouldn’t worry.  I don’t think eating healthier or having a drink (or not) is going to have an impact on implantation.  Tons of people get pregnant by accident and everything manages to implant just fine while they carry on with their normal lives.  If you didn’t eat healthy before, I don’t see how eating healthier for two weeks will matter.

I would take the 2 weeks to enjoy things (like alcohol) that I wouldn’t be able to if I got pregnant.

bestbuddies:  I guess I didn’t pay attention too much to my 2WW, but I did everything I was normally doing which was not drinking alcohol and eating properly (I was on My Fitness Pal), and exercising regularily.

bestbuddies:  As this is our first cycle TTC, I cut some things anyway. I know you don’t share a blood supply yet,  but I cut alcohol and caffeine anyway. I know it doesn’t make a difference, but it makes me feel better. Now if AF arrives next week, I’m having a glass of wine or something!

I’m a healthy eater all the time, so I don’t change anything there – except that I stay away from tuna. I also skip drinking; I figure that two white weeks is just good for me anyway. Apart from that, I just try very hard to not go down the line of focusing and analysing every singe feeling in my body!

bestbuddies:  my husband and i went through 2 bottles of wine in the 3 day span that i kinda sorta thought i was pregnant. i wasn’t ready to face it yet, so i indulged on all the things (sushi, wine, etc) and then i took the test. it came out positive within 10 seconds. lol so yeah, i don’t know if there was any truth to that whole eat healthy thing. and i went for a run a couple of times that week too.

I pretty much do everything normally but if it’s later in the 2ww I do tend to refrain from drinking heavily if I’m going out or to a party or something. I don’t know why but I feel like I’d be eat up with worry if I was out taking shots one night and got a bfp 2 days later. I do still do other things like eating sushi or whatever I want to eat.

When we first started trying, I was super aware of everything I did. But now, a year into it, I just go about life normally. They way I figure it is, once I get pregnant, I’ll have to cut a lot of this stuff out–so I want to enjoy it now.
