Did anyone else get super excited when things start showing up as “purchased” on their registry lists?
I already knew that my mom purchased a couple salad plate 6-packs we wanted from Target, so whenever I went to manage the list – those always reflected as purchased. So last night I decided to check out that list again and see if anything needed to be added/deleted… and the list now had 3 items purchased! Fiance got his blu-ray player that we added on a whim, so that will be nice.
I also checked our BBB list and I saw that one item had been bought; I felt like a kid on Christmas morning! I think was more excited for that one than Target. Maybe it was cos it was for something I was hoping to get (a Keurig). Now I’m thinking of all the k-cup flavors I want to buy, ha.

Kacie209: I put a $350 kitchenaid mixer on there, not thinking ANYONE would get it. Guess what, it was the FIRST thing purchased, and I’m pretty sure it was my incredibly generous Maid/Matron of Honor. It almost makes me feel badly!! I couldn’t afford to do as much for her wedding and she’s really gone the extra mile and beyond for me. Granted, she’s in a much better financial situation that I ever have been, but still.

Kacie209: PS that said, I’m trying really hard to NOT go back and check it b/c I want to be surprised!! I got wayyyy too excited over the mixer, I don’t want to ruin that “ah-ha” moment for everything!!

BurlapnLace: That was the first thing purchased off mine as well! Not even for our wedding, my inlaws bought it for us for Christmas. I was totally surprised since it was still months until our wedding. And I completely love it still! I use it frequently. I seriously have the best in-laws around.

BurlapnLace: I have a KitchenAid mixer on ours as well. But I’ve told my mom FOREVER that it is one thing that I have wanted, so I am pretty sure she bought it awhile ago, and has had it somewhere in their house just waiting. However, until that day comes that I get it, I’m probably setting myself up for disappoint or will just have to go buy it myself if it doesn’t get bought!
handincookiejar: We both are kind of wondering who bought both things, especially since his parents/sister and family had asked what we really wanted, or some higher priced stuff that could be given by a few people – and neither the blu-ray or the keurig were mentioned. We told them things like a bedding set (comforter, sheets, pillows), and then a set of Calphalon pots that is pretty spendy (which we knew we may not get due to price anyway).

But hooowwwwww?!? LOL. My Maid/Matron of Honor said I needed to add more stuff, so my Fiance and I have spent a couple nights looking at things and adding them, as of last weekend everyone received their bridal shower invites for my shower with my family (we’re having one with Fiance family as well because of the 4+ hour distance between towns). Anyywhooo, so last night I went on to add stuff and I noticed a couple things were bought, ahhhhh! It’s exciting.
We have an online registry and it not only tells you what was bought but who bought it, it makes it easier to write thank you cards, but it can be accessed at any time so it ruins the surprise of who is giving what. Now that I know this exists I don’t know if I can let it be haha.
By The Way, I’m a baker, my Fiance bought me a new pretty PINK kichenaid last summer and it changed my life. LOL. I use it at least 3 or 4 times a week and it has an easily accessable home in my kitchen, if you end up getting it you’ll LOVE it!

Ha, after I came back from lunch yesterday… I checked my The Knot registry page and noticed that some items were in gray – meanining they had been purchased. So, of course I had to look again and see what else was bought – 9 items total from our BBB registry! I think seeing that was even more exciting.
I may only allow myself to look once a week now (yeah, right!), but now that the invitations for both one of my showers and the wedding have been sent – I know the other stuff will continue to get purchased. So in a way – new excitement every day!

I’m currently going through this right now. My wedding is 25 days away, but my shower is in 2 weeks.
Since I had done my registry a while ago, I wanted to go and update it to make sure that the items we wanted were still available, and I checked it and I had 8 items purchased.
Just small items such as the cooking utensils, and some napkins but it’s still nice. no big ticket items yet
but I totally mirrior your excitement. This is a very exciting time

I registered for these dumb little Q-tip dispenser boxes for my wedding shower. For some reason I realllllly wanted them. I refrained from looking at the registration list for about a month before the shower. When I opened that little Q-tip holder box, I about lost my shit I was so excited! Everyone was laughing so hard cause it was such a little stupid thing but it was just the excitement and surprise! Stay off the registry and enjoy the suprprises lady! But…I will say it is fun 🙂

Nothing has been bought off of ours yet (first shower next month)…but I cannot stop checking…at least a couple times a week! 😉

One of my showers is on the 30th (for my side and friends), and another will be sometime next month or shortly before the wedding (for his side)… but, I think most of the gifts bought have been by members of his family or mine – as they are way over price points as to what I know most of my friends would spend (or what I usually spend). However, maybe they’ll surprise me!
