… did know what to think. I stared at it for a long time with what most have been a confused look on my face. I was neither excited nor sad. It was more me trying to find a connection with this thing that was created for me.
How did you feel the first time you laid eyes on your custom ring?

@chica95110: I was in love! He did such an amazing job. It is exactly what I wanted!

I was over the moon. They did such a perfect job and it came out exactly like the vision I had in my head. I was also relieved I was able to put what I wanted on paper accurately enough for someone to understand.

@chica95110: DH and I started the process together and he took over upgrading the center diamond size. Honestly, the first time I saw my ring in the snow with my DH on his knee I was overwhelmed with excitement. The ring was beyond perfection and I loved it.

Well, I have two completely different experiences.
My original E-ring fell apart (yuuppp) due to reasons that were mostly the original jewerly store’s fault. So they offered to do a custom redo of the ring. After months of discussions and CAD drawings and back and forth, my ring arrived. And when I saw it and tried it on, I cried. And they were NOT tears of joy. I was so upset, it looked nothing like my original ring and they ignored a whole bunch of things I had requested during the CAD process. After this, and a second half-assed redo, I totally lost all faith in the custom CAD process.
After the debacle with that same jewelry store, we ended up getting a ring at a completely different jewelry store. I picked a semi-mount in the new store that I really liked, but it had to be custom made to fit my center stone. When we went to pick it up a month later I was just over the moon about it! I had been worrying how it would look, but it looked perfect!!

@chica95110: CRIED. Fi had it made. I had no idea what it was going to look like, and I love it!

I was relieved. I was very specific about the size of the claw prongs and the original CAD had round ones abd then roughly shown clawed in the second round, but being CAD didn’t look as perfect as I wanted. I completely trusted our jeweler but I was thrilled it turned out perfect. I was also quite surprised by how large the center stone stuck up even though it is set low, big stones still stick up!

I cried. My grandma gave us her custom ring to use as my engagement ring, and I kept tearing up every time I looked at it on the flight home from California. When we got it re-set in white gold with a few changes, it made me cry again.

@thejucheidea: yours is one of my favorites on the bee!

I felt like a boss haha! He had it made with everything I wanted and no one else in the world has a ring just like it…altho one bee’s mom has one pretty similar, but w/o the sapphire side stones.
