Hahaaa!!! I had a similar experience yesterday trying to sneak in hours of reading "Something Borrowed" by Emily Giffin... it's not quite as big of a shocker to see as that one would be, but I knew if he saw the cover (which is big and pink with a big ol' ring on it) he would freak a little. So I made sure to lay on my stomach and bury the cover against the pillow and read... for five hours, while he was in and out of the bedroom. And now my back is killing me... figures :P
@BlueRidgeMere: I liked "Something Borrowed" too! Isn't Darcy an annoying little wench?
LOL my SO doesn't know what these forums are about - he knows I look at wedding websites but not that I'm becoming part of a community of "women in waiting" LOL. He does, however, know that I blog. The other day he was was watching TV when asking what I was tapping away at on the computer.
"Oh, just some girly bloggy internet forum. You wouldn't be interested"
Not entirely untrue :)
@VikingPrincess: Not gonna lie, a huge part of why I love my Kindle is because nobody has to know what I'm reading at the moment :)
OMG that's hilarious! I remember once I left one of my dating books in the bathroom and he came over...I was mortified when I saw that I'd left it out! I just acted like nothing was wrong. And then called one of my girlfriends to talk me down off the ledge. The book tite: "The Surrended Single: A practical guide to attracting and marrying the man who's right for you".
I thought, look on the bright side. If he saw the book now at least he knows I want to get married!!!
That's too funny. I bought "The Best Day of Someone Elses Life" I forgot I told him I got a new book. When he asked to see it I was mortified. I shyly hand it over, he smirked shook his head and asked if I actually read the back of the book and still bought it.
I'm not wedding obsessed I swear!
That is fantastic. I always make sure to hide my bridal magazine stash under the bed when my SO is coming over.
It's good to know we're not alone!!!
My bridal magazine stash is in the trunk of my car - I read them when I am at the gym! :)
She totally is... but if you read the second one, she actually kind of redeems herself (after some crashing-and-burning, that is).
LOL, I love this thread! I do this all the time with my laptop... I'd be on the Bee and my b/f would walk in the door. So I'd slam my laptop shut... With my finger stuck in it. *ouch*
Gwen
Thanks for all your comments, ladies. It makes me feel a little less crazy. It is so good to know that I am not alone!

So, in an effort to keep my sense of humor, I thought I would share a story. My SO was out of town on a guys trip, and I wasn't expecting him back until later. I had just finished my laundry and was relaxing, about to settle down on the bed to finish reading "His Cold Feet." All of a sudden, there he is standing right in front of me--scared me to DEATH!! Not only because I had no idea he was in the house, but you should have seen me try to inconspicuously drop the book, kick it under the bed, and act "natural." So after I hugged him hello and asked about his trip, he asks me what I was reading. I couldn't think fast enough to make something up, so I said, "I can't tell you," and smiled shyly. I think he suspects I was reading a racy novel of some sort....
