- Wedding: February 2013
As I write this my wedding is 171 days out. Considering we got engaged two months ago, this isn’t much time. But I have suddenly be gifted time in abundance. I lost my job yesterday and while that sucks and I’m thrown back into looking for employment, I find myself with plenty of time on my hands in the meantime. I’m getting married in New Zealand, where we live, and have lots of projects to do for our DIY-heavy wedding. Both my fiance and I are crafty, creative people and I feel like there’s a lot to live up to. Here’s a brief list of the DIY we have planned:
Invitations (done, just need a working day to put them together)
wedding dress (definitely making my own)
decorations for the tables (growing all my flowers at our property)
buying linens for the tables (vintage embroidered tablecloths)
buying paper lanterns
My biggest DIY will be the organization of the two days of the rehearsal and wedding. See, we can’t afford to hire a coordinator for our wedding and so I am taking charge of it and my hyper-organization will come in handy. I am hoping to hand it all over to a friend the day-of to be the point person so I can just enjoy our wedding day.
Since it’s finally spring here in NZ, I am getting more excited about everything to do with our wedding and I am glad to have some extra time right now to start some of these projects. Lots to do and not a lot of time! Eep.
