I would do exactly what you already do with the products to add volume and texture. Because you use products, begin using a clarifying shampoo a few times a week to eradicate the buildup in your hair and scalp the products leave behind. Buy a “Bump It”. They are inexpensive, fast, and if you practice a few times you’ll have it down perfectly. Put the Bump It at the crown of your head and style around it so that you have heigth where you need it. Maybe that will help!

I have similar issues with my hair.  It is very fine and thin and limp.  The bump it?  Yeah you can see right through my hair and see the device – even the small one!

I’ve been using Bosley shampoo for months now and that has really helped. It’s not cheap, but it lasts a long time and has made a serious improvement.

The best thing I’ve spent my money on though is clip in rows of hair I found here at a local beauty salon.  There are 7 rows of real hair and it gave me massive amounts of hair.  I brought them into my salon this week and we played around with them. They would be perfect for an updo and can be curled no problem.  I paid $85 for them.  WELL worth the investment.

Yes, they can be cut, colored, curled, etc.   It was well worth the money to me.  Other hair pieces, even with fake hair (like the Jessica Simpson ones) can be $200+.  $85 was well worth it to me.  You get married once and deserve to feel beautiful!   Find a good hairstylist who will work with what you’ve got.  ๐Ÿ™‚

I have the opposite problem…..too much hair and it is hard to find people that know how to work with it. I always wind up with a MILLION bobby pins and TONS of hairspray.

I think that you should be able to find a hair dresser who can work with you hair. A good hair dresser can do ANYTHING! i agree that adding hairpieces is a good option. Extensions never hurt anyone. ๐Ÿ™‚

why don’t you wear a full lace wig? that is what I am doing. I am get a shoulder length wig and my hair dresser is only charging $20 to put it on for me the day before the wedding. I am using the SUPERTAPE to hold it on, it lasts up to 3 weeks.

I say go for the extensions.  I have had short hair for the last 15 years and just recently let it grow out some, and hoping I dont have to do extensions to be happy with wedding day hair, but may have to buy some pieces as well.

About your pictures – something worth checking into when you decide on photographers – see if they have experience with plus-size photos.  It makes a huge difference because if not – they dont always give you the most flattering angles – regardless of your hair.  If you have any friends who are plus-size and recently got married – ask them if they liked theirs, or just ask for a portfolio of pics before you sign contract.  Angles are EVERYTHING!

You’re going to be a beautiful bride with or without more hair!

wedding hair extensions.  I say go with extensions.  I have super short hair but here is a with and a with out extensions so you can see how cool they are.  they are all clip in and they were colored to match my hair.  $200.00 after color match cut and style by the salon.

@twobecomeone:  Awesome – that helps a lot!!  I’ve just personally found that it takes a special person to photograph weddings and women with beautiful curves deserve to have pictures treated with the respect their curves demand! We had family pics done last fall and I forgot to tell our photog how self conscious I am about pics from below and I regretted it when I saw the pics.  He wont be doing our wedding thats for sure.

As with every relationship, working or romantic – communication is everything!  I cant wait to see how your hair and pics!!
