Hubs is a mechanic, so he does all sorts of things for my car. Right now, my car is worth about 5k more than the book value cuz of all the extra things he has put it in, and all the time he's spent (80 hours alone resanding my car down to primer so I could get it repainted entirely after my neighbor put a huge dent in my 1/4 panel) on it is mind boggling. He works 6 days a week to make extra money for us, and makes dinner when I'm too tired. He does so many little things for me, I can't even think of them all right now. He's great
MrsSl82be, that's awesome, he sounds great. Isn't it great to know your being taken care of!
Mine made sweet potato oven-fries on Monday night :-)
I love brag about your husband time! I feel so blessed to have my man. Things are pretty tight money-wise right now, since we moved for him to have a job, but I haven't been able to find one yet, and that makes me feel guilty and depressed a lot. But we had his brothers over for dinner and Family Home Evening (we're LDS) last night and hearing him praise me to his brothers and talk about how lucky he feels to have found me just really improved my mood. Of course I know he loves me, but to hear him go on like that just warmed my heart!
@ worcesterbride, those totally rock!
@ourbiglove, isn't it awesome to have them encourage you in that way. It's so fun to hear them gush about having a good wife!
Mine will give random backrubs, and listen to my crazy work-rants or wedding-rants. He does the dishes, does the laundry, and the little things - like filling my car with gas or walking the dog before I get home. He's WONDERFUL!! Oh, and he moved across the country with me to be closer to MY family and friends. That's a huge one.
I'm going to brag on my husband today! Today was my birthday and he got us tickets to see the Moscow Ballet's production of The Nutcracker this Friday! It's extra special because I used to go with my mom every year but since she died 6 years I haven't gone. I'm so excited! I didn't give him any ideas, he came up with it on his own. And he's willing to go with me. He's the bestest!
I came home last week and was making dinner when he got home. I was doing something and didn't notice him put down a little gift box by the oven. I was flittering around the kitchen when I noticed it and was like "Oh, is this a late wedding gift" (from his co-workers that couldn't make it). But then I noticed the Christmas CD I had mentioned a week earlier and my favorite candy, along with some of my favorite coffee. It toally made me cry - I was so surprised and it was just so sweet. I listen to the CD about 10 times a day!
We're not yet married, but I'd like to brag anyway. I'm having a really hard week at school - it's the last week of classes and as such a million things are due. Knowing how stressed I am, my fiance is helping me out every chance he gets. Making dinner for me, making lunch for me to take to work/school the next day. When I'm in essay writing-mode he comes upstairs periodically to give me a kiss and ask me how things are going. He makes a stressful week so much easier just by being so supportive and helpful!
hmmm... mine is so awesome and does everything around the house! I'm actually scared that he'll eventually get tired of me for not doing enough, so I try very hard to do more but still doesn't feel like enough..
I love this thread! All of your hubbies/SO sound awesome! We're lucky gals!
My husband of course is awesome as well. We just bought a new house in October, and we still have a ton of stuff in our 2 car garage...so we only have room to park one in there right now. Of course, the sweetheart that he is, he lets me park my car in there, so that when it snowed the other day, I didn't have to scrape my car. He also had dinner ready and waiting for me every day last week b/c he knew I was crazy at work and was totally stressed.
And, my all-time favorite was when one of his friends put him on the spot and told him to say something nice about me without thinking. His response? "M is a great cook." I was floored. He's ridiculously picky, and not easy to cook for, so it made me so proud
Earlier this week, when my hubby came home I asked him to fix our bedroom closet when he had time this week because it no longer stays shut and during the day when no one is home, one of our dogs likes to lay all over JUST MY clothes and shoes and gets hair all over everything in there. So he fixed it and said "anything else?"
So I said, "Sure, the closet in the guest bedroom is also broke." So he fixed that. He then asked, "anything else?" I laughed and thought for a moment and he said "I know what you're going to say! You're going to tell me to fix the baseboard trim in the hallway!" So he just went and fixed that himself without me saying anything, then he fixed the clock in my car which hasn't worked stopped working last month.
I've had this honey-do list for months and in one evening it was all done. So nice!!
I graduated this semester...w/ working full time and doing a masters in 2 years, I was EXHAUSTED...he has been making me pretty much EVERY meal and even making sure I'm caffeinated! I'm so glad to be done and start being a better wife!
My husband rocks! How he can put up with me I have no idea.
He is so patient with me, and even-tempered, even when I'm going off about something, he is so calm and reminds me that it's not that big of a deal.
He cooks when I don't feel like it, he helps me clean, etc.
He is definately brag-worthy :)
My hubby planned, grocery shopped for our week and stayed in budget... and cooked creative new dishes this week..... then assisted in all the clean up. This is unheard of! I thought I would have to do all the cooking as he only cooked once through our engagement. Yesterday I came home, he had a load of laundry in and listened to me talk about my day wile custom designed our new mailbox with our names and handprints like in the movie UP, and then to top it off...he neatly folded my clothes while I slept. I love being married to this man!
He is so patient with me. (I have had so many changes this year, lots of work and family stress, and he deals with me really well.) His friend came over today so they worked on refinishing his desk for hours and he still managed to have an AMAZING stir-fry in the fridge when I got home. It's so good!
We recently oved into our house, and have had problems with our garage door and there is something wrong with our toilets- they clog RIDICULOUSLY easily. So one toilet got clogged yesterday, I have tried so hard to fix it and can't, then another one clogged tonight. (We still have two functional toilets, they are just out of the way.) I am having one of those "nothing going right" kind of days. FH is on call today (works 6am today until tomorrow morning, and texted me, so I asked if he could fix it tomorrow (he set up garage door guy to come tomorrow) and told him I was working on laundry and dishes. He texts me back, "I will sort them out tomorrow. Not to worry. Thanks for doing dishes and laundry. Love"
it's the little moments that get me, like to today my guy came over and visited me mid-day. he just wanted to make sure he got to spend a little bit of time with me today before he was busy with other plans in the afternoon. he worked this morning so he was exsausted but instead of taking a nap at his place he came over and napped with me, he even held me the whole time he was asleep! i thought it was so cute!
FH is not great about acknowledging my efforts. He is refinishing a desk, so I helped him. Twice, he commented that the top had splatters and we didn't figure it out. Then we found out that I was splattering the desk and there was stain on the wall. I might be the worst stainer ever. He fixed the desk and I fixed the wall. Then he put my desk together and helped me rearrange my study. Last night while getting ready for bed, he said, "The desk looks great. You did an awesome job." Made me so happy.
I love this thread so I wanted to bring it back! What wonderful men and wonderful acts of kindness out there! This is the perfect read to warm your heart on a cold, dreary day.
My husband brings me flowers home on a fairly regular basis and is often found folding the laundry (my least favorite chore).
My favorite moment was a small one this morning. In a rush to leave (I'm always late in the am) I said a quick goodbye to DH and was running out the door when he bounded up the stairs half-dressed to give me a "proper" hug and kiss goodbye and to tell me he loves me and will be thinking about me today!

Just had to brag a little about my man, I had a really bad day yesterday and when I got home, he had already started and almost finished the laundry, kitchen was clean, and he was changing sheets on bed.
When I went to finish up dinner, he told me he had a surprise, he had mounted lights under our kitchen cabinet so I can see the counter (the lighting in our kitchen is so bad).
Having him do those few things made the night seem like a breeze and we actually had time to cuddle and watch a movie together. sigh,.....he's so good.
Ok ladies time to brag on yours.
