Well it is your wedding too, so even though he's making them, you do need to have your input.
Just tell him that you're super happy he's doing it and he's doing an awesome job, but he needs to make the invites look like invites, not a program.
Show him some pics of invites and tell him that's what he needs to aim for.
Perhaps have invites AND programs so he can let loose and have all the details he wants!

My fiance is very talented when it comes to design. For our save the dates (which are being printed right now) I told him what I wanted and he made it happen and we collaborated on the details. Now he is in the process of designing our invites, but he doesn't really know what info needs to be on there. What he keeps creating is closer to a program or an itinerary and it is straying for the aesthetic that we are presenting with the STD. I am so excited that he is so active in this process and is enjoying helping me make decisions. I'm worried that if I completely sack what he is making that he will be discouraged and step back from planning. What should I do?
