@PumpkinCheesecake:  I hear ya! I’m as equally excited as I am annoyed that I have an idea of when the proposal will take place. Try to focus on other things while you’re waiting.

Me too! I know it is coming and it is impossible to not think about it and always wonder if this is it. And to not be disappointed when it isn’t it again 🙁 Hope it happens soon for you!

@PumpkinCheesecake:  THIS. EXACTLY!

Me and my SO bought my ring 2 weeks ago and it’s supposed to take 2-4 more weeks to be made/get here and it’s killing me! I’m trying not to think about it but I keep looking at the picture of it I have and my finger and imagining what it will look like to be there.

@klingon:  And I think that he will propose right when he gets it because he told me after we left the store that if he would have known it would take that long we would have gone sooner!

I hope your guy asks you soon!

I hear ya! Ring was at the setter’s two weeks ago. It should be done if nothing went wrong, plus bf has been sending some crazy signals. It’s pretty annoying not being able to think about anything else lol MAKE IT STOP

Big time struggle.

I got a text last week and he said, “I will be proposing soon” (no coaxing).

It took all of my will and might to not go in on the 10 questions that immediately came up in my head.  I don’t like the word “soon”.  In fact, I am getting irritated when that word comes up just in regular conversation now.lol  I mean, what is “SOON”?  Ugggh…so frustrating.

NO

FUN!

@klingon:  I have told my SO several times that he can’t just go into the store and walk out with a ring for exactly this reason! Guys just don’t realize what a process getting a ring is. Hopefully my SO listened because if he ends up having to postpone and take even longer with this because he doesn’t have a ring I might have a nervous breakdown lol!

@Butterfly6:  I totally agree! the word “soon” brings such a horrible negative energy through me whenever I hear it. It’s like “whatever”. The word has lost meaning lol

@Quackadoo:  I despise the word soon too! I am pretty sure he has been saying he is going to propose soon since August and I know he still doesn’t have a ring so at the very least I have a month left. That doesn’t really match with my definition of soon lol!

@PumpkinCheesecake:  Lucky! When we bought the ring they said it would take 4-6 weeks and it’s been 2 weeks so 2-4 more weeks to go. :/ It’s killing me!

@impatientlywaiting20:  Oh no, don’t have a nervous breakdown! Make sure he knows that it could take WEEKS to get it. And that it’s so much more then just walking into a store and walking out with a ring. When me and my SO went to look at rings I was supposed to pick a few out and then he was going to go back and make the final decision but I think when we walked into the store and they started talking about carats and clarity and cloudiness and stuff he freaked out and decided to just buy one, lol. Good luck to you!!

@klingon:  Thanks! I am trying to keep the nervous breakdown vibe under control as it isn’t very attractive lol! SO is in DC until the end of October and I am going to see him and look at rings while he is down there but I think he will buy the ring up here. I thought he might be thinking about proposing when we go to Texas to meet his family on December 15th but I am not sure about that now. Christmas is looking pretty likely at this point but if the ring takes 6 weeks for us and he doesn’t even start seriously looking until early November we may have a problem. As much as I don’t want him to be stressing about getting it in time I guess it would be like karma for making me wait for so long haha!

You ladies are all lucky! I have no idea if the ring is bought or anything. However, we are going on a trip next week and since we’ve been dating so long, it’s hard not to get my hopes up whenever we go away.
