I’m trying to accessorize my pretty simple gown (it’s at the tailor’s now, so no pics) with some diamond-y jewelry. Fiance and I moved to a new city a couple of months ago, so I’ve had NO ONE to go accessory shopping with me. I picked out this feather-y headband thing, rhinestone chandelier earrings, and a three-stone pendant on my last shopping trip. Here’s a pic of all of that together with my cathedral length veil. I’m also having hair issues (totally separate issue, not to be addressed here)—basically, I need opinions!
I posted this on theknot.com message boards and no one had anything nice to say. 🙁 I’m hoping you gals will come through for me.
P.S. the dress is off the shoulder, Alfred Angelo #1148 if you need a pic. Thanks!

I kind of think that you have a lot going on… The pieces are ALL really pretty though 🙂
I would choose either the veil or the headband, not both. Or maybe wear the veil during the ceremony & the headband during the reception? I like the headband… the feathers are so chic right now.
If you do choose to wear both at the same time, would you consider a stud earing? Like a pearl or (more within your desired “look”) a diamond/CZ?

first of all, you look ADORABLE!
and those earrings are perfection on you!
that said, i’m not sure it’s as perfect to have both the veil and the feathere headband at once. maybe wear the veil for the ceremony, and the headband for the reception?
if you want a bit more interest or sparkle with the veil, maybe add a diamante back comb, either literally attached to the comb at the back, or sitting right on top of it? (and then switch to cute feather later?)

I second the idea of wearing the headband at the reception, it is too fabulous to not wear!

I agree with the other posters – everything looks awesome, but I would wear the headband at the reception only. Then you will still have something awesome in your hair after the ceremony!!

i love it all too :), but it is a little tiny bit ‘double pretty’ (a Chinese concept poorly translated into English, meaning when you wear all your favorite clothes together, regardless) when it’s all together.
Are the feathers on the headband removable? I think the headband itself would look great with the veil (and cement your hairstyle in place for the entire day), and then you could clip the feathers on when you remove the veil between ceremony and reception. Is that possible?
Love love the earrings 🙂 and can’t really see the pendant, but since its so much longer/lower than the rest, it shouldn’t be a problem. 🙂

Thank you SO much! The feather thing is not removable, but I’m pretty crafty and have considered making it removable. hehe. The pendant is super simple, just three stones right on top of each other. Thanks again for all your help ladies! (:
P.S. I love the “double pretty” saying. I think I’m going to add that to my repertoire. lol.

I think it’s a pretty fun and eclectic look. Your personality looks like you can actually carry it… (It’s that fun haircut I tell ya!) I wish I could see you facing the camera with the earrings etc. Have you considered wearing a bracelet? Remember Stacey and Clinton say you should always take one thing off before leaving the house (someone else said it to but I can’t remember lol). I honestly don’t see any difference in you wearing the headband with the feathers or someone wearing a flower tucked behind their ear and a veil. (Shrugging my shoulders)… I probably would go with a simpler earring and wear a cool bracelet instead of the chandeliers

Coco Chanel said that!
I think I LOVE that headband, so if it were me– I’d wear the headband and a huge bangle bracelet. I’d lose the earrings and the necklace, because I wouldn’t want anything competing with the headband. Let us know what you decide!

That’s the same wedding dress I wore! 🙂
If it were me, I’d wear the veil and earrings at the ceremony, and switch to the headband at the reception. The pieces are really beautiful, but all together at once it’s just a smidge much.
That said, it’s your day and if you feel great in it, you’ll be beautiful so go for it!

i agree with the other posters that the veil and the headband may be too much all at once. i really love the idea of wearing the veil for the ceremony and the flower for the reception!! (i’m doing this with veil/birdcage veil)
i do think all the elements are very pretty though 🙂

That headband rocks, you wear it so well! I think the veil and the headband looks fine together, but I would lose the earrings. I think the earrings and the headband compete with each other a bit. Such pretty choices!

I agree: veil or headband, but not both. Maybe you could use the veil for the ceremony and headband for the reception? The earrings are great!

So cute!! If you wanna wear a hair feather accessory too, maybe you can stick it towards the back, behind your ear and closer to the veil? 🙂

I agree that the headband + the veil are too much together. I would wear only one at a time. But I do think that the earrings go great with both the headband and the veil (I’m sure the pendant does too, but since we can’t see it…^_^) I think switching from the veil to the headband for the reception would be a total showstopper. ^_^
