OMGoodness I thought you were talking about australia then with the title! HAHHA. nearly had a heart attack!
The "special or consistency" part is really up to you - no matter what you choose it will be special because it is the first time. Although he's going to see you for the first time as well, maybe if you do something special he'll expect it to stay that way, I dunno.
As for how much to trim and the method, I would say, definitely do not shave... It's very uncomfortable when it grows back and hurts if you do it too often so you get stuck in the uncomfortable zone...
Personnaly I used to do it with wax, but since I found the way I like it and want to keep it that way permanently, I'm going for laser hair removal.
So maybe wax a part and trim well what's left.. Then see what your husband likes and go from there... we actually had that discussion before I went for laser, since he's the one it affects the most!
I'd say wax the bikini area, and trim the rest. Don't wax everywhere (brazilian) unless you are prepared for 1. the pain, cost and awkwardness of having a stranger wax your bits every 6 weeks, and 2. your future husband getting used to it like that and expecting you to maintain it. Its up to you and what you feel comfortable with, but I think trimming what is inside your undies, and waxing whats outside your undies is the way to go.
I shave. Every day. I use cheapo pink single blade razors with the aloe strip (bic maybe?), and just brush over it. If I let it go a few days, it's still manageable, but more than about 3 days and it gets gross, and kills the life span of my razors to about half a shaving session ;) If I keep it up daily, it takes about 30 seconds in the shower. I spend more time shaving my legs than I do my cooch. I had to do some serious trimming before the first time though.
I've never tried waxing, mostly because I'm afraid I would love it and then be stuck paying for it forever, and right now I really can't afford any more things to be in love with, haha.
If you trim regularly, I don't think you should have too much trouble. Most guys I've talked to are okay with whatever so long as it's sanitary; they usually have a preference but that isn't going to keep him away.
I would agree with @Roux - although you may need clarification that by undies, she means underwear, panties and the like...
You were asking for Aussie colloquialisms (sp?) with the title :-)
I have to say, i was definately au naturale for my first time, and many a time after that before i started getting brazillians, now i cant go back!
Haha, Miss Sydney I didn't even think to clarify that! lol, yes I mean underwear. The word 'panties' creeps me out though. I could also have called them knickers, and you probably wouldn't get my aussieness either. :)
Hey Australian ladies, what does "panties" mean to you?! I don't get it?! Is it like fanny? .
Commoshin, I would say give it a good trim, then shave the bikini line and you'll be good to go! Have fun on your wedding night!
I keep myself completely shaved/waxed - it actually really adds to the sensitivity during sex for me. It does take a bit of extra time every second day in the shower ...
@hoosierbee- Its just not a word that is used here. Everyone says undies or knickers, or jocks. Panties creeps me out because it makes me think of dirty old men lusting over little girls panties. I think its from watching too much Law and Order SVU. I'm not saying all Aussie's don't like the word, but it has a creepy connotation for some of us.
I agree with the others that waxing the hair that falls outside your underwear and just trimming the rest. I would not start out with a brazillian because then you might have to maintain it (and I'm kind of creeped out by the naked 12 year old girl images that go with it).
Oh my gosh - I totally thought we were talking about Australia and now have the song stuck in my head! LOL Must be an Aussie thing cos the word "panties" totally creeps me out too! Also, Fanny here means your v-jay.... so the term "Fanny-pack" totally creeps me out too! Haha!
Yeah I totally thought you meant aussie. HILAROUS. i used to wax, but its a massive cost to maintain, and seriously DIY in this area is unadviasable. I speak from experience!
@Miss Sparklespaniel- 'Fanny pack' makes me lol. In case any non aussies are wondering, we call them 'Bum bags'. But that doesn't mean its ok to wear one in public. Haha.
@miss sparklespaniel - seriously!? 'fanny' has that meaning there? In the States it just means your bum! ...talk about an awkward pack!
Yep. You see where the creepiness comes in! LOL Many an awkward moments when American's on TV refer to their fanny. Like, in the song for the Nanny. LOL

Hey bees!
So I know that there are plenty of you out there who, like me, are waiting until after the wedding to have sex. My question is, how are you prepping your nether regions (::giggles::)? I mean, on a regular basis, I'll trim here and there just to keep things neat but now that someone else is gonna be able to see me nekkid, I don't know!
I'm really low maintenance and stick to the basics when it comes to my appearance so I'm pretty sure any effortful cosmetic alterations would not be regularly attended to in the future.
What are you doing? Shaving, waxing, part, all, or au naturale? Something special for the wedding night/honeymoon or stick with consistency?
