bouquets/corsages/boutonnieres, any favors you will be doing, escort cards or seating chart
are you doing menus?
This is a great thread I hope everyone posts stuff!
Emergency kit - and/or check list of things to take with you on the day of.
(Thanks for this thread - it's EXACTLY what I need - I keep feeling like I'm forgetting things!!)
I am having a 6pm wedding so my aunt is making deli trays for both my room and my fiance's room. More substantial food than snackies to make sure we don't get worn out.
Cake Stand?
Wedding Party gifts?
Outfit for rehersal dinner?
Sandals or flip flops if your heels hurt during reception
If in Oceanside do you need a shrug or cardigan for even ocean wind?
Gifts for your parents or his parents?
Groom's gift?
Get your ring cleaned the week of the wedding
Marriage license (funny I am sure we all forget about this)
Update your registry as we are hitting a change in seasons. For example I am registered at Crate and Barrel and they are starting to no longer carry summer stuff and bringing out all the fall stuff
A list of what still needs to be paid. A nice spreadsheet of 2 weeks out, 1 week out, day of wedding... who the check is made out to and maybe go ahead and make up the envelopes (including gratuity)
I swear I will think of more
aisle runner/ceremony decor? This is a good list, keep it coming ladies. I'm missing a lot!
list of vendor contact info and all wedding party contact info (in case someone is running late, etc)
Day of timeline for all of your vendors as well as the bridal party
Welcome letter for guests (in the hotel room drop) - possibly including a map to the ceremony/reception and what time transportation (if any_ will be picking up/dropping off)
Wedding photo checklist (so you don't wind up not having a professional pic with your grandparents for example)
I just added bathroom baskets to my list, thanks bees!
@zaylee:Just a basket in the bathroom with extra stuff like tampons, breath mints, bobby pins, Anything you think a guest might have forgotten that would be nice to have. Not necessary but a nice touch
Such a great post!
A bathroom basket contains lots of little things that may be helpful to guests, such as deoderant, floss, tampons, etc. If you search for bathroom basket a lot of helpful posts come up.
Do you need a clutch or purse to keep lipstick, ect. in?
Do you need any 'reserved' signs for the ceremony?
p.s. I really like the idea of getting the tips ready in envelopes beforehand!
@zaylee: http://wiki.weddingbee.com/Bathroom_basket
lol, we have a a wiki!!! LOL! did NOT know that!
first aid kit; either bought or made.
Small sewing kit
OTC meds (sinus/allergies/headaches/etc. I'd advise getting a few bottles from the dollar store and putting them in clutches or purses of certain people and letting it be known by word of mouth who has 'em at the wedding & reception.)
tissues. lots of 'em ;)
Does anything need to be moved from the church to your reception?
We assigned 3-5 (wonderful!) guests to setup the after ceremony water, and also transport a few small flower arrangements from the church to the reception.
Going through all those things ahead of time and assigning tasks was really helpful! No one in the family had to worry about it day of (especially me!).
make sure all vendors know what time to show up and where to deliver things (ie flowers, cake). make sure they know where their items should go & how to arrange.
assign someone to pin bouts on guys - someone like an aunt or someone responsible (seems not important but guys will never think of this on their own!)
make sure everyone knows what time to show up - at each location, timeline of events to all including parents, officiant, DOC, photographers etc.
seating chart, print all menus, escort cards, programs (+ extra) & know who's bringing them.
drop off cake topper, any decorations or floral accessories at vendors week before
book final pick up of dress, confirm hair/make up, get outfits ready for wedding morning, pack bags, bring all accessories you'll need (razor, extra hairspray, wedding undies, flip flops, lotion, sun block, jewlery)
arrange for dress(s) to be steamed or ironed
think about food you'll want morning of, have plenty of snacks & quality food
make sure you have transporation all weekend including OOT guests, groom, guys, flower girl + parents etc.
drop off OOT bags, have phone numbers exchanged with family & wedding party
make sure DOC, wedding party, famil, PHOTOGRAPHER & vendors know of rainy day plan!
Things you'll need the day of:
Dress, Shoes, undergarments (your poofy skirt if you have one), garter, jewelry (bracelet, necklace, earrings), hair clips if any, veil, makeup you're going to use
Breakfast/Lunch for yourself and your bridesmaids
Out of town bags for guests staying at the hotel
Gratuity for anyone you're providing it to - something quick and easy you can get ready!
Transportation home from the reception!
I love the deli tray idea for the bride and grooms get ready room. I hadn't thought of that and if I'm hungry, I'm grouchy! Im putting that on my list!
Back-up copy of ceremony
Emergency contact numbers (vendors, venue coordinators, plumber, locksmith)
Cell phones (easy to forget)
Flat ballet slippers
So one other cute thing I am planning is for my bridal bag I am getting one of those awesome big Lands End totes and having my new initals on it and putting one of my bride buttons over it for the day of the wedding... then the bag can be cleaned out and be the honeymoon bag.
Copy of ceremony is a great idea.
Copy of timeline of reception (dance at this time, toast at this time)
A CD of the super important songs? Many just in case make a CD that has the dance songs and the ones that are super important to you? I mean if all else fails...
Umbrella for wedding day in the car... once again... just in case
Cash. For the reason of... oh lets say a groomsman forgets black socks... you can hand cash to the nearest person and say... "Go buy this"
Cell phone charger
Little boombox for the getting ready room? Might help take the edge off with some music in the background
Still thinking. I have a month to go and I am making all my lists too.
Ahh I don't even want to think about this little stuff...I'm done (or mentally checked out)
programs
emergency numbers and contacts (for yourself and vendors)
wedding signage - to let people know they are at the right place haha or for parking
Bump! I want to see if we can add anything else to the list.
