Okay, Bees, I have a question for ya!
I asked DH the other day (we were joking around) if he ever lies about small stuff. You know, such as “Did you do the laundry?” “Why, yes, honey, of course I did!” and such. His immediate answer was, “Yep.” I was like “Whaaaa?” because I wasn’t expecting him to be honest so quickly! Note: We were totally joking around, so this wasn’t a serious ‘you lie to me you jerkface’ moment. He said, “Do you?” I said, “Well, no, but maybe I’ll start. For instance, your butt definitely does not look big in those pants, honey.” HAH. He laughed, I laughed, it was great. The thing is, when we ‘lie’ to each other, it’s so transparent and easily noticeable that we both laugh it off immediately. It’s almost like a game we play, in a way. “Did you do the dishes, Stef?” “Um….yes, I did. Absolutely! Why wouldn’t I do the dishes, James?” And then he cracks up and says, “So I’ll take that as a no, then.”
Do you and your DH/DW ‘lie’ to each other about little things? Has there ever been a moment where someone actually gets MAD about it?
ETA: I do realize that my example isn’t lying to deceive, which is why it’s stated in quotation marks. 🙂
