I'm sure you already made a decision on this but weddingbee member CorgiTales got married there. You should PM her! :)
I'm sure with it being 5 months out you have made your decision, but I would highly recommend the Loft! My sorority had a formal there one year and we had dinner catered upstairs with the drinks/dancing downstairs. It is rather small but I'm sure it would be lovely! DBF also attended a wedding there once. I don't know if the dinner at formal was catered by Zuppa but it was delicious. They used to have a restaurant near my high school that was yummy!
I called them six separate times to set up a walk through. The one time I got through they said someone would call me back and no one ever did. They have some glowing review on WeddingWire so it should all work out, but I decided not to continue to bother because of the lack of communication.
I think anyone considering Dock 580 (formerly The Loft/Venue) should seriously consider Via Vecchia or the Cultural Arts Center. Not that Dock 580 isn't lovely in its own right, but there's other gems here in the city that provide a similar feel as well.

My fiance and I are getting married next year and thinking about having our wedding reception at the Loft at Smith Brother's. Does anyone have any experience with this venue? Pros/Cons? Also, I was wondering what were your thoughts on the catering company, Zuppa Catering. I just didn't know whether it was fantastic or not...I am having problems finding reviews online, and the food is very important to us.
Thanks!!
