Wow what a pretty dress and an amazing price! I like it alot the way it is... maybe only add the black to the back I think the fron is stunning the way it is!
Congrats!!!
Wow I love that dress! And I can't believe you got it for such an amazing price! It's definitely a dress that should keep you happy and not leave you second guessing yourself, it's beautiful!!
Wow, it's gorgeous! And $200?!? What a deal! I actually think the black lace would be a really cool touch, but only if you're sure you won't change your mind soon ;)
That dress was a steal of a deal! Beautiful :)
Beautiful dress! I just wanted to say the first pic you posted is from a shop I went to (Not sure if that is who you bought it from). I went shopping there for my dress, the girls that own the place are the sweetest! I didn't get my dress there but did get my veil, headband and bracelet. You got a great deal!!! I think it will look great with the changes.
Thanks everyone for your kind words....... I DO like the sash as is but I'm afraid it reminds me too much of sort of like the pope's robes or something - lol (I KNEW it looked like something and then my friend said "the pope" and I was like "ah-ha! THAT'S what it looks like!" That's all I think of when I see those ends hanging down now.) Also I don't love that they're the same colour as the dress...... wish they were darker or pink or something...... other than that I just love it....
Here are some photos of what I was thinking of going for with the lace (and some lace I bought if I just went with a lace sash.....).

I was driving myself nuts looking at dresses (I'm sure a lot of you know what I'm talking about). I've been off work with an injury for several months so I've been on the internet WAAAAAY too much. I thought I had an idea of what I wanted (I'm an older bride, rather short, curvy and have lots of tattoos so it had to look a certain way - go wrong in one direction and I could have looked like a circus sideshow, you know what I'm sayin'?) but when I tried dresses on that all went out the window...... The problem is I change my mind ALL THE FREAKING TIME! Dresses I looked at six weeks ago that I saved photos of I look at NOW and go "oh my god NO! What was I THINKING?" and of course I didn't want that to happen with my wedding dress so....... I saw a dress, I bought it. DONE.
I knew I wanted to buy a used dress because I'm VERY frugal and I can't imagine spending thousands on something I will wear for only a few hours and this one was SUCH a good deal I couldn't pass it up...... it's by Watters. I love the colour (it's called "sparrow"), and I feel that it is simple enough that I won't do that whole "oh my god!" thing in a few months (I tend to have "wacky" tastes most of the time) It's silk satin (another thing I wanted and could NOT have afforded if I bought a new dress), brand new with tags, unsold stock from the store. I think it should look okay on someone my height (five feet tall). I want to take the belt and sash ends off and put a vintage black lace sash on.
Oh, the best part - it was $200! Yay! Which is good because the alterations will probably be a lot to shorten it.
(oh, and uh, the next day I bought ANOTHER vintage dress too for the reception - I'll do another thread for that)
