    Hello Ladies in Waiting!

I have a friend who isn't even thinking about getting married any time soon, but she still subscribes to not one, but TWO bridal magazines!

I've heard stories about women who let their boyfriends know they're waiting for a proposal by leaving bridal magazines lying around.

I'm not even engaged...but I love reading wedding magazines. They're so much more enjoyable than something like People or Cosmo, and I sometimes find myself hiding my left ring finger while paying for wedding mags when I'm at the airport. I do feel slightly weird buying them though, so I don't do it often. Here's my question: Do you buy/read them too? How often? Just every once in a while for plane trips, or do you have a 27 Dresses-esque devotion to reading them? Are you reading them for fun, or are you actually using them to start the wedding-planning that may be in your future?

I don't buy real magazines...imo, that would be sending too many signals.  The thing for me is, I know a friend of my bf's who says his gf is sending massive signals, and he hates it.  My bf knows I read weddingbee because an engaged friend got me into it, but anythign more might be signal-esque, and I just don't want that now since I'd say we are 6 mo to a year away from that still.

I HATED wedding magazines until I got engaged! But I also hated men until I fell in love with my fiance. I think I'll continue to buy wedding magazines after I'm married!!! I subsribe to 6 right now!

I've actulley vowed not to buy any wedding mags until I've got a ring on my finger. Its kinda like a supersticious thing to me i guess...

I love wedding magazines so much. I never felt quite right about buying them before I was engaged, so now that I am I allow myself to totally go nuts buying them. I figure, I only have a certain amount of time to indulge in this kind of stuff, so I want to go all out.

I'm not offically engaged yet (he has the ring and is just waiting for HIS way of asking me - I think it's kind of sweet!) and I read wedding mags.  I actually just subscribed to a few last month and my SO said he didn't care in the least.  I like getting ideas early in the game and they are just plain FUN to look at!

Ha, my mother would love all you ladies!  I had never looked at a wedding magazine before I was engaged. The night I got engaged my fiance planned a big party and my mom had this big bag and was so so excited to give it to me -- what did I find but every single bridal magazine she could find!  She had known about me getting engaged (he asked permission!) for about two weeks so she was just buying them left and right.  I still think I've only looked at 1/2 of them. I'm more of an online looker.

I bought a few before the actual proposal, but it was after we had picked out a ring together and started saving up for it. They're very addicting and now that the wedding has passed, I still find myself looking them over at the store. I especially love Martha Stewart Weddings, but there's a lot of great ideas that can be transitioned to many other things from party decor to even just every day decor items. And don't get me started on the fabulous color combos I see in there. Seeing those give me way too many ideas for painting rooms in our house, I can't make up my mind! I bought my first wedding magazine when I was 16...I remember it like it was yesterday!  :)  Wedding mags have always been a guilty pleasure of mine.  I LOVE to day dream about my potential future, and they were great inspiration.  It's funny, now that I'm engaged, I am actually less excited about wedding magazines than I used to be!

I had all my "wedding porn" carefully stashed in strategic locations around the house so as not to scare the mister.  When we got back from our vacation in Mexico (where he proposed) my FI was appalled when I started pulling magazines (6 or 7 total) out of their hiding places!  He did eventually find it funny, though he insists I had "dozens" of them.  I'm not one for leaving them around pre-engagement.  I think it would put a lot of extra pressure on a guy.  Proposing is VERY STRESSFUL for them, no matter how confident they may seem.  Nobody likes to feel cornered.  So get your wedding rocks off, but keep it on the DL for now!

I can honestly say I have yet to buy a bridal magazine! I got a "knot" wedding magazine for free from a bridal show, that's as far as my magazine reading has gotten to. I'm more of a blog reading, web searching kind-of gal.

I started buying them when I got engaged. I love them and as I am going through my planning stage I keep going back and reading them over and over again. It is like for each stage of your planning you start to see things in them you didn't notice before. I love it!

I used my sister's wedding as an excuse to look at wedding mags- even though I was really looking for myself.

When I had my tonsels removed (5 months before I was engaged) my best friend sent me a care package with instructions not to open it in front my (then) boyfriend.  In it were a bunch of wedding mags for me to read while I recouperated!

I actually hid a folder of wedding related clippings, along with the magazines so my (then) boyfriend wouldn't find them when he came over!

I started buying them a few weeks ago once my bf and I talked and we agreed we want to get engaged soon. Even though he knows, I still keep them stashed away for when I have company since we're not "official" and we're keeping it quiet until then. :)

I've always loved magazines, especially wedding ones. Now that I'm engaged, I have a subscription to Brides and Modern Bride (they came together). I also pick up Martha Stewart Weddings and the new Southern Weddings. I'll probably keep buying them after the wedding!
