I went to a church social today and the nerve of some people! First I was asked when I was going to have kids by this realy obnoxious girl. OK, whatever, have heard that before. I responded, “We’ll see.” Then this guy who seemed to be hitting on me- I’m wearing a wedding ring and I got a good opening to mention my husband, and he starts asking in a really condescending way why isn’t my husband there. I responded that he was working, and he gave me a hard time about it. Then, after hearing what we did for a living, asked, “How much do you make a year? $350,000?” NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. I responded, “Oh, we don’t talk about that.” I am proud of myself for not giving them a verbal smackdown, but can’t believe people would ask that! Anyone have similar stories? How do you respond?

My Fiance had a coworker that obviously had a little crush on him. I thought it was cute but she once said to me, “Don’t take this the wrong way but sometimes when I see on your facebook how much you love him or he did this or that I just want to hit ignore!” Only because she’s jealous…lol

Yeah I hate it when people ask me when we’re going to have kids. And people also ask our salaries and how much things cost. It’s really annoyning and just creates an awkward situation since we never tell!

How do you ladies respond? I kind of wish I had given a statement that put people in their place and let them know how rude it is to ask.
@moderndaisy: Yes! We get the questions about how much our house cost, cars, furniture…it’s awkward since I make way more than most of the people we know, and we got super nice furniture since we figure it will last a long time. Part of the reason I got the house I did was that the bigger/fancier houses we were looking at would have made our friends uncomfortable.
